@madcapscience: I have the board game and I actually usually play a mix of the family rules and 'serious' rules. It looks like this isn't really an option with this game, which is kind of a shame.

Incidentally more board games should definitely have family rules or a less complex 'learning' mode. I'm always up for complex board games but it can be hard to play them for the first time or with new players.

EDIT Also Flashpoint is definitely easier with not the maximum number of firefighters.

@percychuggs: I've noticed that it tends to stutter quite badly the first time you load a course, but other than that it seems pretty OK.

I've been having a fairly good time with this but sometimes my shots go completely in the wrong direction and I have no idea why (low wind, good or perfect impact etc). A lot of the time it feels like there's quite a lot of randomness in how things will go, and that's frustrating in a game where you need some precision to do well.

I also noticed some people trolling in the online mode (lying down on greens, repeatedly ramming people taking tee shots etc.) and it seems there's no way to block them.

If my driving instructor had been this serene I might not hate driving with every ounce of my being.

@gecoma108: Yeah, I played the Paris level quite a lot a while ago. I was tearing my hair out watching them do the elusive target there a couple of weeks ago, especially since they were making mistakes and getting stuff wrong that they'd previously done correctly in other videos.

@bigmess: No, I'm pretty sure that this is the game that has Zach in it.

@theinvinciblemark: I'd just like to clarify that Atrus didn't choose for you to come to Myst, you found the Myst linking book after Atrus used it to escape from Gehn some years previously, and it ended up dropped in the star fissure (kind of the space between Ages). Atrus is surprised to see you when you first actually meet him because he expects Catherine, not yet realising that she's been kidnapped by Gehn.

@dagbiker: There are some really great moments in Uru (the 'MMO', although the game is a complete single player experience as well) and its expansions which subvert your expectations, and also quite few which play with or investigate weird or novel ways in which the 'linking' system can be used, and the in-lore constraints which it has.

@madoublec: Almost all of the puzzles in Cyan games are internally consistent with the game world (although occasionally they do push it a bit).

@cikame apparently they also have recorded the FMV in 3d in order to get a good depth effect in the vr version.
