Need for Speed Most Wanted (PC) suffers from a bug, which makes the client crash more frequently, the higher completion you get. I'm at 98% completion now, and have an autolog posting on pretty much every billboard and speed trap, as well as all events and cars. It's related to a minor memory leak caused by unresponsive autolog synching attempts by the client - at least that's the common theory.

Currently my game crashes once every couple of minutes. Up from zero crashes when I first started playing. It has become unplayable. Hell - if I don't instantly jump into my task manager to increase process priority to high - the friggin' thing crashes instantly, as it tries to synch up with autolog for the first time. Talk about unrequited love.

How bad has it gotten for you guys? Or is anybody even going for completion and asymmetric multiplayer competition?

It's been roughly a week now, since my game completion surpassed the mark of stress my system can handle. Still no patch.

I'd estimate my average playsession before a crash to be under 10 minutes. I've played about 10 hours in these dire circumstances. I've seldomly had less dignity as a gamer.

Seriously - how hard can it be to hotfix such a thing in a timely fashion? Kinda makes me believe only MMO-developers are capable of such a thing, and even then it's the exception to the rule.

Never heard of such issue. Mine haven't crashed once and I'm around 90-95% @25 hours played. Been playing mostly singleplayer to get SP, but had my fair bit of multiplayer too.

It's fairly common, if the official EA tech support forums are to be believed. My client doesn't even load into the game since about two weeks. 100% crash guarantee. I first have to increase process priority in the task manager to get it to load. It will crash regardless though, in under 10 minutes. Up from zero crashes like you. Offline works perfectly fine (as in going into offline mode in Origin and not synching up with Autolog at all).

The game's pretty much dead to me because of this issue. It's a god damn shame too, because I love it. I am very disappointed in how slow EA/Criterion is to react to this issue, and how little is being communicated. Zero transparancy is what I hate the most about this situation.

Let's not even start with the issues I've encountered with regular multiplayer. The last 5 speedlists I joined crapped out in the middle, like the UI pulling a disappearing act and events not starting indefinitely - on top of some ridiculous scoring issues, making competition pointless to begin with. It could be so much fun, if Criterion would finally tighten this stuff up. Guess they're all on their 'game shipped' vacation, while many PC users are left with a broken mess of a game. Barf.

Oooh, yeah, I had that happen to me a couple times, too. Drove around in circles for like 15 minutes before it finally responded and started the challenge. Haven't had the crashing issue you're having, though.
