@raven10: It's not Spy Hunter as far as I can see. The view point was lower and following the car.

Hello folks. I have two games that have been bugging me for months.

First game [SOLVED - "Crossbow"]

From the mid to late 80's (my first EGA game), it's a static shooter where you protect the people walking across the screen. You use your keyboard to move the crosshair around and kill people or monsters trying to shoot your slow-walking characters. Each level or so you would gain a new character you have to protect. The final boss was a giant head in the middle of the screen that shot things out of its eyes; and when you killed it, it turned into a giant skull. A lovely memory for a small child.

cantaloup: "@berserk539: Is your first game possibly Crossbow? It was originally an arcade game from the early 80's, but maybe there was a PC port."

Next game [SOLVED - "Fire & Forget 2: The Death Convoy"]:

Late 80's to early 90's. Car driving game, following camera POV. You shoot, you can fly for short periods of time (based on how much flying fuel you had), you bounced when you fell, and you can't leave the road. You can also shoot rockets that looked like "x"'s as they flew away from you (or maybe that's what they looked like as they flew towards you?). Your mission over four(?) levels was to catch up to and stop a truck that was going to shoot a nuke at some city that was important to you. I never beat the game, but I got to the last level. The "GAME OVER" screen was you silhouetted against the wasted remains of the aforementioned city.

Any takers?
