Not an episode of UPF goes by where Rorie doesn't say something that's totally out of left field, unfiltered and hilarious. I love his presence on the show. His personality is unlike any other on the staff and he makes the show better. @Rorie If you're happier behind the scenes then no argument from me if you head back there, but understand that lots of us appreciate what you bring to the site when you're on stage.
I appreciate the comic talk as someone who knows nothing about comics. And I accept everything they said as fact, despite the objections of the Comic Book Guys in the comments, and will share it all at every party I attend this weekend.
@lestephan: This is my only issue with VR at the moment. PC gaming as well for that matter. The cost of entry is extremely steep and if you want to maintain a place on the cutting edge or simple have good hardware its insanely expensive.
I know prices will come down but it's starting to feel like I'm a little bit late to every party.
I think it's more that you're early and the party hasn't really started yet. This is just the beginning, where everything costs too much and there are too many damn wires everywhere. You can skip this entire phase and wait for the part where the equipment is better, cheaper and requires less expensive hardware to run, and I think you'll be fine. I'm enjoying my dip into VR so far, but I feel like this is nothing compared to where it'll be one day.
I hope, Ben, you can get in the habit of projecting your voice more. Not to sound louder -- just to speak with more force in your throat. The throaty, almost phlegmy sound that comes from using the bare minimum amount of force is easily preventable but very hard to listen to (especially with headphones) over an extended period of time.
It is so strange to watch a group of folks have a silly good time playing this absurd game and then scroll down to read so many deadly serious (and occasionally mean-spirited) reviews and critiques of their silly good time.
This looks fine. If they patch out that weird temporary paralysis players have when inbounding the ball, that alone will do wonders for pacing. People calling this atrocious or ugly is a bit much.
NBA Street Homecourt, I bought it 10 years ago and never played it. Should I?
Provided you take it for what it is — it's a lot different from the previous Street games — you should. It feels wrong at first but it's unique and it plays really well once you get on the same page with it.
