90% of my content viewing is on the Apple TV app actually. The rest is mostly iPad and occasionally on my laptop. The new redesign is mostly okay. There’s always been weird loading issues when they updated the video player some time in the last year or maybe longer on my iOS devices. But with the redesign I haven’t been able to get a video to load on mobile safari at all.
Visually appealing, definitely and ultimately better from an organization standpoint. I was actually surprised they pulled the trigger so soon with such a short beta, I expected it would be a few months of betas, but I guess it’s working for most.
This may have already been tested, but on mobile (Safari iOS), it’s a little jarring to me that the carrousel doesn’t have inertial scrolling while you navigate. Not sure if that was a purposeful decision or if it’s somerhing that can even be changed, but I feel like it would make the navigation experience better.
@thedigglegod: Yeah, this might be more my OCD, but I feel like Show seasons should be listed as “Season 1: Contra”, “Season 2: Soul Calibur” for This is the Run, or “Season 1: MGS”, “Season 6: MGR” etc.
This minimizes the MGR before MGS situation and also provides continuity and clarity, especially if you haven’t seen a show/are new the site, you don’t know which playthroughs/seasons happened first which can be confusing especially when prior stuff gets referenced in what you’re watching.
I’ve had the same streaming issue as well using the Apple TV app directly, but airplay to the same Apple TV from an iPad or a laptop works perfectly fine.
I’m having a new issue where Whenever I open the latest section the Apple TV app crashes, I’m pretty sure it’s the recent million dollar Abby video, because if I go into other individual categories they work fine, but the million dollar Abby section also crashes the app.
I remember the very first time I watched a video of Ryan Davis back in the Gamespot days. I always enjoyed your demeanour, positive attitude, smile and that laugh, oh man that infectious laugh!
Thank you so much for all the smiles and great times. You will be sorely missed. My condolences to the Davis family, his friends inside and out of the GB crew and his fans.
