A Lesson in Shooting 0

I feel like every first person shooter in the world can take a page from Half Life 2's book. Probably one of the greatest games of all time. Now we can add a new shooter that COD and Battlefield can learn from. Its called Wolfenstein: The New Order. Lets start with the story. The Wolfenstein series stars B.J. Blazkowicz doing what B.J. Blazkowicz does best. Shootin' Nazis. And god damn does B.J. Blazkowicz do it well. So well in fact, that he has started being haunted by the memory of every Nazi...

Oh I'm Gonna Get Flamed for This'un 0

Oh The Last of Us. How I wish I could understand you. I mean I understand you perfectly, I just don't get how OTHER people understand you. I once said that this was the most overrated game of all time. I was wrong. That honor safely goes with Persona 4, this however is a close second. Lets talk about the story.Formulaic. Predictable. Well-written. That last word doesn't belong with the other two, but somehow it fits in when describing the nature of this game's story. The game stars Joel and Ell...

Why? 0

I'm a hypocrite. Call of Duty has been dead to me since MW2, a game I hated with a passion. Black Ops, MW3, Black Ops 2, have done nothing to change that. Yet I have put countless hours into these games, MW3 and BO2 especially. One of the main reasons, is the fact that my friends insist that the online is worth playing, even though they rage as much as I do. I really disliked BO2, but it had a great campaign, and the addictiveness of zombies to keep me around. This one...doesn't.Lets start with ...

Formula Goes Stale 0

Ah formula. No one likes change. I'm keeping with the formula by reviewing this game a few months after I played it. This game follows formula by being close to the same damn game you've played the previous two times. Assassin's Creed Revelations doesn't succeed in being a revolution of the franchise, but it does have one of the most entertaining stories written for the series in a long time.Assassin's Creed Revelations follows Ezio, now older and wiser, looking for answers about his life. Has h...

Celebrate the New One by Playing The Older One! 0

Yes, at the time of my writing, Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag has shipped for 360 and PS3. While all of those nice people get to enjoy it, I have to wait until the good ol' PS4 launch to play. Lucky bastards. So, instead I will review the third game in the series, Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood.Picking up seconds after the ending of Assassin's Creed 2, Ezio has just had his mind blown down in the vault. He didn't understand what he saw, and he seems to just want to forget about the vault. Excep...

Lets Review Another Older Game! 0

SPOILERS I will put another Spoiler warning before the actual spoilers. So, my last review was of Assassin's Creed. Great game, but had its fair share of problems. So lets review its sequel! Assassins Creed Part Deux. The game starts off literately right where the first one ended. You get a quick recap of the previous game and then your off! Time to escape Abstergo with Desmond and Lucy. Ah Desmond. You were an interesting plot twist in the first one. Now you are just preventing me from stabbing ...

Remember the Creed 0

Assassin's Creed is a game experience that I will always remember. I will always remember first seeing this game at my cousin's house. First seeing the awesome looking combat, beautiful graphics, and badass of the main character. It was the game that convinced me on getting a 360. Its just a shame that a lot of the things that I will remember, aren't necessarily good things.I have started this game so many times I can remember all the dialogue from the beginning of the game word for word. Not b...

Late to the Party 0

Okay well I'm not actually late, just late writing the review. I actually played this game a couple years ago, before deciding to buy the director's cut to experience it again. Yes, I bought this game to experience it a second time. Then a third.Heavy Rain is kind of like an interactive movie. Created by the same studio who gave us Indigo Prophecy and the upcoming Beyond: Two Souls, Quantic Dream, this game gives you a one of a kind experience that you really can't find anywhere else. You play a...

Fun and Flawed 0

*Some slight spoilers*Dead Space 2 was one of my favorite survival horror games, even if it was less on the horror and more on the survival. Sure the game felt a little more action-y than Dead Space 1, but the combat was so great I didn't mind it. That's not to mention the great story and amazing opening section. So if I could forgive Dead Space 2 for being more action-y, I can not forgive this game. Lets start with the story. You probably have heard the basic summary, Issac Clark back in trouble...

Fantastic 0

Here is a little game I didn't even know I was excited for. Zero Escape: Virtue's Last Reward! This is the sequel to the beloved 999, which I admit I haven't finished. I started it like the day before I get Virtue's Last Reward, but I did read the story and trust me...its amazing. So play that or read the summary of that before you play this.Virtue's Last Reward is a game in the niche genre of Visual Novels. Think of this game as Professor Layton for the big kids. You read the story, and occasio...

A Flawed Return 0

In a previous blog I stated I was very highly looking forward to this game. You see, I was wary about this game when it was first announced. It looked a lot different from previous Hitman games and mostly looked like a generic stealth shooter. Eventually my fears faded and I got caught in the hype.Unfortunately my fears were correct. This is not Blood Money 2, but that doesn't mean the game is terrible. You start out with a tutorial mission teaching you the basics of the game, it also sets up a d...

Great Execution! 0

Excuse me for the pun, but someone had too. Dishonored came out on the same day as XCOM and people had their work cut out for them choosing between this and XCOM. I chose Dishonored and later XCOM, but unfortunately I had to sell Dishonored to get the other.Either way I enjoyed the time I had with Dishonored but...maybe its a little bit overrated? I'm not saying is a bad game, its fantastic, but maybe just not as great as most would have you believe. The game is a great return of the Thief/Deus E...

Welcome Back Chief 0

I have a confession to make. Before 3 months ago, I had never beaten a Halo campaign. I will follow up on my history with Halo in a blog post sometime, but I now own every one once again and am a total story enthusiast. So I was really excited for Chief's big return. So much so that I put down $100 for the LE back in AUGUST. If this game was bad, I was probably going to shoot myself.Since you are reading this, its obviously very good. I'm not going to go into the nitty gritty of explaining the s...

Strategy Game of the Year 0

Well I'm only saying that because its the only one I've played besides replaying Halo Wars in anticipation for Halo 4. I'm sure if I did actually play any others this one would still win.I played on Normal and it was a great albeit easy experience. The game is fun on so many levels, and I want NEED a sequel to this fantastic game. Everything changed from the original X-Com works. Six squad members? Keeps the action focused. Two moves instead of turn units? Less math, and maybe even a little more...
