I'm also going to play the fanboy card here and vote for David Cronenberg's 1991 adaptation of Naked Lunch. It's a great film and it's fairly avant-garde, although not as direct as you may be asking.
The shot film Un Chien Andalou is about as avant-garde as you can get. It's Salvador Dali's cinematic masterpiece (along with his then unfinished Destino that Disney animated in 2003). Plus it'll give you mad indie-cred for knowing the film Pixies "Debaser" is about!
I agree. I love this soundtrack (minus the emo-punky stuff). However, I can't condone a fileshare. If you like it, support the artist/distribution. I think you can buy it off iTunes, either way, here's a more legitimate source.
I just want to take a second to thank elsuperdonut and the rest of the Giant Bomb community for being grown-ups when it comes to these debates & discussions. It's why I came to this site a few years ago....well, that and the kick ass video content. But, Giant Bomb has an amazingly passionate community that is open to discussing games and respecting people's opinions. We just saw a clear example of that on this thread. We both have different opinions on the issue, and we were allowed to discuss them without someone being an immature ass and hiding behind internet anonymity. So, I just want to say thanks to all of you for solidifying the reason I'm a paid member to this community!
@elsuperdonut: I don't contradict myself, I just state that I think giving a trial (like EA games do) is a better business model. Either way, the online pass is still effective for the devs. I'm all about them making their money back on their investment, so I'm for the passes. And I make the argument, because I don't see renters as "paying customers" to the devs. It's like stealing a wi-fi connection, and then complaining about the connection speed/bandwidth. You're not contributing to the devs/community, so it's not really your place to say anything.
To your comment: It's the fault of the rental places for buying the game and then renting it to you, not the devs fault for sending to the rental place.
To help your case, I would like to disclose that I buy all my games, so I don't necessarily have a "renter's perspective" on the situation. I'm just speaking out because: A- I feel the developer's are entitled to any and all money that could go their way, especially for quality games like Dirt 3. B- I get flustered at how a lot of gamers feel "entitled" towards games. Demanding things of the devs because it's "their" game
