We all have games we hate, but are ok with that. We like to hate them. We have totally valid arguments to validate our points and can discuss with their fans on what is wrong with them. Or at least what we think it is wrong with them.
My problem is the games I wish I liked.
Example: Adventure games. SubExample: Monkey Island.
This was the perfect time. The sequel of an all time favourite, one of the best of the genre.
I pre-ordered it. The package with all the episodes and the dvd cover or whatever TellTale was offering as a bonus.
I totally convinced myself that I would love it, the story sounded good, the previews were giving it thumbs up.
Everything was great the first hour or two of the game, a few chuckles here and there and some exploration. I was having a good time.
Then I went into "The Jungle", where you see this pirate playing with toys, when you have to click all of the dialogue options to advance. That´s where the magic ended. I advanced a little bit more on the jungle maze until I felt physical anxiety. I had to stop.
I haven´t played it since then, and that sucks, I really wanted to like it.
It is weird because I remember loving Snatcher back in the day. So I don´t really know why I haven´t been able to keep my focus on another game of the genre.
