The Fight Continues 0

Strictly speaking, there are only two places that you can find an epic adventure featuring Mario, Link, Star Fox, Solid Snake, Sonic the Hedgehog, Samus, and many more all at once. One is the multitudes of often sub-par fan fiction online, and the other is “Super Smash Bros. Brawl” on the Nintendo Wii. It’s somewhat hard to imagine “Super Smash Bros.” needing an explanation at this point. The series, which started nine years ago on the Nintendo 64, has quickly become one of Nintendo’s most popu...

Outstanding puzzle game that deserves more attention 0

So there you are, in the mansion of a rich widow who wants you to help her solve the mystery of her husband’s inheritance. You just chased down her beloved cat, and have returned to find that a murder has taken place there in your absence. “No one leaves this room until I question them,” says the detective in charge of the murder case. How shocking! You turn to the butler next to you, who says quite casually, “You know, this murder reminds me of a brain teaser I once heard…” Such is the world o...

Could certainly have been worse 0

Have you ever been watching Lost, enjoying one of the best shows on television today, and wondered what it would be like to be a survivor of Oceanic flight 815? Then Lost: Via Domus is the game for you! Or at least… it wants to be. The game centers around a survivor from the crash that you will never see on the show itself. The action picks up immediately after the mysterious crash, and your character is quick to realize that he lost his memory. You know nothing about the man or his past, save ...

A Worthy Prequel To FFVII 0

“Final Fantasy VII” obviously wasn’t the first “Final Fantasy” game, and to many people it’s not even the best game in the series, but it’s easily the most popular. So for years, fans of the game have demanded more and more content. The most popular request is a complete remake of the PlayStation original, made all shiny and new for the PlayStation 3. While that wish hasn’t been granted (at least not yet), Square-Enix has revisited the world of “FF7” in just about every other way possible. Ther...

Not Much Can Ruin These Days 0

While the “Advance Wars” (or, more appropriately, the “Wars”) series has been going on for quite some time (20 years in , 7 here in ), it hasn’t changed a whole lot over that time. Sure, new features, units, and gameplay elements have been added with every incarnation, generally making for a better game every time it appears, but the series has always maintained a certain level of “cuteness” factor. For a game about war, Advance Wars has always had very anime-styled characters, who seem to find...

You And I, We Can Fly... Again 0

It’s been eleven years since we first saw NiGHTS, the flamboyantly dressed flying jester that many thought would join Sonic the Hedgehog as one of Sega’s most recognized mascots. That first game, NiGHTS: Into Dreams, debuted on the Sega Saturn console in 1996 to commercial and critical success, and fans have been clamoring for a return ever since. They finally have their wish, as NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams was recently released for the Nintendo Wii. With an innovative system like the Wii, and th...
