The Discourse has ruined any conversation about this game for like three years at least, let's all take a break & come back when we can all agree that it's a very good game and most of what people are complaining about doesn't ultimately matter that much.
Except it does matter. Having severe pacing issues with an overbloated story structure are legit complaints.
Is it a good game? sure the gameplay aspects of it are. But just about most of the story elements i disliked about this game.

I'm not going to besmirch you for wanting to eject from conversations at this current time and place for yourself, but please don't ask some of us to sweep some of our discussions under the rug, especially when some of them involve real-life consequences like worker's rights abuses and toxic workplace culture at Naughty Dog.

@d_w: I'm in the exact same spot man. That backtracking switch stuff was so badly designed, and the level layouts aren't too inspired even if they were more cogently put together. And the slime boss is just absurd. Charming art, but the rest...not great.
