There's lately been a relentless stream of quality video and audio content, I suggest you have another look around the site and see what's available before telling people you've made up your mind to leave the site.
As mainly a PS3 player I'm really excited about the potential of the Wii U. I think the negativity you describe is to balance out the amount of over hyped makjeting that is churned out on a day to day basis to the masses. So I agree with your point on the consumer wanting their own power.
Nintendo's way of thinking is that putting a 2 at the end is toon redictable, they like to deviate from the normal rules. I think they would say this is not the 2nd attempt at Wii, it's a new philosophy for Wii so it gets a new sub-brandname. However if I was brand manager it would have just been: Nintendo Wii II. Or: Nintendo Wuu :)
I signed up to paid membership just before E3, worth it i think for the quality of GB's work. As paid subscribers we are all doing our bit to help too!
