This has to be the most frustrating thing. I am a huge fan, put over 100 hours into D1 w friends. I almost considered taking a day or two off work to just enjoy and have a mini staycation. (So happy i didnt do that). I've rebuilt harddrives 3 times with 2 drives, turned on and off every setting that exists yet I still have not been able to get past the opening 10 minutes without a hard crash. Sony will not offer any refunds and the 4gb patch did absolutely nothing. I have a case open with Sony to send back the pro and request a new one on warranty grounds.
Meanwhile all my destiny friends are done with the story and on to end games and night falls. Ah well, hopefully when i get my console is back in a week or two this and No Man's Sky (which also frequently crashes) will work and aliens will be shot in the face once more.
Thankfully Mario X Rabbids is amazing and a worthy distraction.
Love this book. An interesting anecdotal finding. Everyone I know who read the book liked the movie at least a little bit. Those who did not absolutely hate the movie. This is the only time I can think of this happening.
@veritas146: Thank you. I am very glad it was able to get past the preconceived notions of these types of songs. Worked hard at it, and really appreciate the feedback.
@Zrais: Thank you so much! I know the feeling. Most songs ive heard about games maybe give me a chuckle and then I move on. I was really trying to write something respectful and listenable. Not just a novelty song.
I've been a fan of GB crew for a long time. I am delighted that there is a site that so specifically cares about not only the newest games, but preserving the steps, and the stages we took to get here.
So the point,
I am a songwriter... when my day job is not in the way. Perhaps due to my brain absorbing Bombcasts and content all day, one of my little tunes is this "Ode to 8 Bit". Seeing the recent videos of classic PC and console games I think I may have finally found some like minded people. This is an attempt to write, what is essentially a love song to the games of my youth. To the jargon and the logic. Something fun, but not silly, something by a gamer for gamers. I would like to share my song with the hopes that it may find a few ears who get all the moments and bits of this song, and feel the same as I do about our little hobby.
Just to voice the other side. I only have a ps3. Ive been playing Skyrim on it for a few months now. And ill admit im not a marathon gamer (2 hours straight is my max and an uncommon occurrence) and I have not encountered any major issues. Sure a few textures here and there not loading, and the occasional backwards dragon but other than that im almost 45 hours in level 21 and having a great time.
