I watched this a while back and really enjoyed the sad story it told, but apparently it has a filler ending compared to the manga, so that kind of sucks.

I don't think that last video is really appropriate.

Well, both High School of the Dead and Elfen Lied are not so great so whatever.  
 
It's like comparing rotten apples to... rotten apples.

There are some huge father/daughter issues in this anime.  The weird use of Klimt in the opening is just that, weird. But hey its short and you'll be able to scoff at those who call it a great anime in the future!

I have it on some kind of bootleg DVD. Also the Manga is pretty cool too. Gets real crazy at the end.

I watched it all the way through several years ago, and I hardly remember a damn thing about it. That's probably a pretty good testament to my enjoyment of it.

I watched this. I don't know how I feel about it.
 
That horrible scene involving Nana has scarred me. I can't forget it.

I never really liked it, the level of violence seemed to be there for mere shock value, and the tone of the show was inconsistent. 
 
Also I rarely get sqeamish over stuff like this, even Akira wasn't too bad for me, but this made me downright uncomfortable at spots. Also the nudity wasn't really well justified, I dunno. Just seemed there for fanservice or something.

I don't like this anime. The opening didn't have Jpop or Metal. That's how I know it sucks. Also tits? Talk about pandering to their audience of depraved losers.

I somehow avoided watching this show even though i was super into anime for the longest time. I'm fine knowing that I will never watch a single episode of this.

Akira's not that bad as far as violence goes, especially when compared to HotD or Elfen Lied.  I kinda put those two in the same boat with Gantz actually, shocking for shocking's sake and if you want to just tune out to it then go for it.  If you want some brains to your violence to wash the bad taste this seems to be leaving in your mouth Catolf, try Texhnolyze if you can get your hands on it.   "

Well I like Elven Lied but I must admit this one aint for the squimish and is kind of harsh ,  the themes are heavy , very exploitative ,  definitely not for everyone , even less for the anime haters :P . The ending is good , but that is a matter of taste , the manga ending is cool too but I liked the anime ending more. I would never recommend this to any one but the creepers like me ..... yep ..... im weird .... or to the really open minded ( is there anyone ?)

I just remember the worst dubbing ever, loli shots, and superviolence. If Bulletstorm is a impression of a videogame, Elfen Lied is an impression of anime.

One of my favourite shows, blood and violence i love it all.

Oh man, this anime was so depressing. The whole thing with the girl who gets her arms and legs cut off...Jesus. Lucy is a cold-hearted bitch (though she definitely has reason to be). I'm not really sure how the ending turned out the way it did.
 
@ryanwho: It's not really an accurate representation of most anime. SAW isn't a representation of most movies these days, because there's a lot of different movie genres. Elfen Lied is kind of in some sort of weird "shock-value" genre, maybe along with Gantz.

I'm not interested in watching this anime. Too violent for my tastes.

Good stuff. Only violent in some certain places. Has some good meaning in it.
