With a greater emphasis on genuine platforming than its predecessor, Sonic 3 was a step in the right direction. 0

Editor’s Note: For those of you who don’t know, Sonic the Hedgehog 3 is actually the first half of a full game, Sonic 3 & Knuckles. Due to time constraints, Sonic Team decided to release the full game into two separate games in order to retain the full experience. However, they still charged top dollar for each game, and even today, playing through the full Sonic 3 & Knuckles experience often requires either buying both games separately, or playing through each game separatel...

Wacky level designs, funky soundtracks, and trippy eye-candy come together to make one of Sonic's greatest adventures. 0

Sonic the Hedgehog CD’s (I’ll just call it Sonic CD from now on) reputation has changed quite a bit over the years. Beginning with its initial release in 1993 on Sega’s ill-fated CD peripheral for the Genesis, Sonic CD remained a rather elusive entry in the Sonic franchise, which was strange since Sonic CD was widely considered the greatest Sonic game ever made. When I was growing up, everything was so civil. “Oh, you have an Xbox? That’s cool, I have a Gamecube.” I never once got into a heated argument over whether Metroid Prime was better than Halo, or that my Gamecube was inferi...

Despite serious pacing issues, Sonic the Hedgehog remains a really fun game to this day. 0

Many of you reading this review grew up with video games. You played them, you beat them, you worshipped them; they were not just a hobby, but a passion. Inside of these games were the characters themselves, working as empty vehicles to place yourself into the experience. Or better yet, these characters might have had personalities all of their own, and you got to feel like you were next to them, along for the ride. Or even better, these characters could be so fun and interesting that they&rsquo...

Grand Theft Auto III: An Excellent Start to a Great Series 0

Where do you start with a game like Grand Theft Auto 3? Do you start with the immense sense of freedom that the game provides you with? Or what about the sheer depth and astounding attention to detail present? How about the mature subject matter that was so scandalous for its time? Actually, does this game even need an introduction? It’s been over ten years since Grand Theft Auto 3 exploded onto the PlayStation 2 and created a shock wave that was felt all around the industry, and arguably t...
