I started playing Terraria because of his terraria videos with Jesse Cox, and I started playing minecraft because I liked Terraria so much. TB basically introduced me to two of my favorite games indirectly and I'm sure others can relate. I've followed his content off and on through the years and I respect and count on his opinions for finding video games just as much as I count on the staff of this website. I can't say that for any other games journalist, besides certain people no longer working for giant bomb.

this is such an obvious amazing thing, surprised there aren't 100 of these more modern takes on fmv games. it's fantastic!

giantbomb.com "neogaf for the modern era"

really though, there is a lot of seeming 'indepedent' gaming sites popping up everyday. there isn't anything wrong with leaving a larger company to start your own, it's the american dream. also to say they are 'copying' giant bomb is kinda funny, arguably all of the larger sites are gearing to be more personality driven, i think gamespot is the only one doing a decent job so far though. ign sorta just always seemed too corporate to me, but thats just based on the few times i actually clicked on a link to that website.

something else semi interesting, looking at ign yesterday, there was nothing about greg or any of the guys who quit on the ign home page, nor could i find anything on the site about it. you can tell a company that appreciates their employees, couldn't ever imagine giant bomb doing anything like that.

they should probably take him off of the staffs twitter feed on the front page then...

I understand, and its probably a good career move for everyone. Giant Bomb isn't focused on articles anymore at all, though patricks work always added a bit of variety if i wanted to read about some games i probably wouldn't know about without 'worth reading'.

aside from all that, everyone on this site is a fantastic writer and i wish there were more 'newsworthy' things they could find to appeal to us nerds.

its weird to think that any of you guys would ever need to prove 'journalistic integrity'. at the same time though journalism in general, doesn't have the best past with trustworthiness.

very well written article, very glad you guys think so rationally and logically.
