I've had this on my mind for a while now... 
 
Are female gamers REALLY so rare to, say, Xbox Live and such? When a female gamer appears all you hear is, "Is that a girl? Wow I've never met a girl on here before" and things like that. Is all that *really* necessary? Plenty of my female friends play video games on a regular basis and no one here finds it odd. Any thoughts on this?
