So was sitting here waiting for TNT to begin (its around 11pm here in the UK)

I have my OpenGL coursework to do, which is in for 3 weeks time, so thought I would begin!

So I have began by just practicing some code seeing what does what etc...

So I made a floor, ceiling, 2 walls (left and right) and placed some cubes in the early build of the room.

As you can see this is a far away shot, of the practice world.

The coursework requires at least 2 rooms, connected with a long corridor. But I'm gonna be more adventurous once I have those done. Will post more on that later.

This is a close in-room shot of the left side of the practice room.

I think I will attempt texturing next. Might make a class for the cubes and textures. But for now, that will do.

I am really in-experienced with OpenGl so this is all quite new to me, so if anyone out there has any good tips or knowledge as i go through making this environment through the next 3 weeks, please comment  :)

Right time to get a drink before TNT!!!!!

thanks for the nice responses :)

@N7, fear not my attitude to changing some of the industry's biggest problems will never change and I will keep moving up till we get heard as developers.

@supermike6, I will never be mainstream..... Never!

Hey, Welcome,

I'm CtrlVee, I am a hard-working, passionate, honest and talented game designer / developer.

I have worked on a few industry projects here in the UK, however I have had a change of heart and want to make my own work, where no bosses in suits that don't understand the development process of the game or about the amazing people who play games where all they care about are targets, sales and most importantly their profits!

So I am makig my way through the ranks and levels of this industry, wanting to make a change.

My goals are to become known across the world for what I can produce for you, the gamer. My work is not for profit or to become a big, rich man... NO, but to allow people to have a great time playing games.

The overall plan though is to become a big development / publishing unit here in the UK that will be able to expand globally. Allowing for development teams or talented people to have a chance to show the talents they have that the big fish in this amazing, exciting pond miss.

However for now, I am working on an OpenGL 3D environment piece of work for my last piece of university work, once that is done I have my degree (WOOP WOOP) then after that the real fun starts people with me working on engines/ mods while starting the funding to create my first development team.

So if you think you want to be part of a game development team then keep your eyes posted on CtrlVee, come September I will start looking for people to help me on my first project.

But for now, welcome again, keep your eyes out for me.... I will show the industry the revolution that is coming.
