The most interesting thing about the CGI intro sequences in Silent Hill was that they were done by one guy Takayoshi Sato. He stayed back late and turned all the computers in the office into a render farm and slept under his desk. His work got awards and was shown at SIGGRAPH. He was able to turn this into a bigger role in the development of Silent Hill 2.
My favorite fact about the KLF is even though they're labelled as "pranksters" by the media they don't see themselves as such. Everything they did was because they felt it was needed or important, and having a successful music career just enabled them to do things they felt were important. You have to admire the conviction.
I'd argue against drafting with your gold to get more cards if you're a new player. While you do get cards you miss out on Wildcards, which are a good way to craft singles that you might need for a specific deck. If you can draft and win enough gems to keep drafting then go for it.
