Assassin's Creed 1 and 2 finished

So just finished Assassin's Creed 2 after playing straight through both games this week.  I'm pretty interested now in possibly picking up Brotherhood but I'd like to know if it's continuing the story in the single player first.   There's also surprisingly few trophies left to get for the game after playing the game through once, which I actually appreciate, and although one of them is to hunt down those damn feathers (and therefore get the Auditore Cape for that one as well) it's less painful than I'm looking at for other game on my list.  The Sandman and Sweeper trophies look like it'll require a beating but I can get those done, the Air Assassination trophy just looks like I need to find the right time and place, and the kill 10 consecutive enemies might just require me locking in a ton of smoke bombs and going nuts on everyone.  Oh, and I didn't spend 5000 florins on courtesans, which surprises me because they were USEFUL every time I did hire them.

Taking a break right now.  Wondering where to go from here.  Maybe some God of War?  Maybe some GTA4?  Give Fallout 3 another chance?   Or I could just go with inFamous and play another open world adventure game.

Brotherhood picks up right after AC2 ends. Both with Desmond and Ezio.

AC Brotherhood builds on most mechanics in 2. The fighting is improved, but I still think fairly weak. It does build on the overall plot development.
Sandman, Sweeper and Air Assassination of a poisoned target are all really easy to get too.

Also if your planning  on getting all the feathers I suggest using this guide. By far one of the best. You can click on each X and it will show you a video of the feather. Also you can uncheck the ones you already found.

" Go to the big palace place in Venice for the Sweeper and Sandman, as you can attract a load of guards there by simply hanging around the restricted area. If you haven't done the 10-kills no damage one, there's a mission in the Bonfire of the Vanities expansion (which you can replay from the DNA menu) where you have to kill 10 brutes in a short period of time. Smoke bombs are your friend. "

That's exactly where I went.  Wearing the Auditore cape seems to attract a LOT of attention for some reason.  By the time I unleashed the first smoke bomb I had about 15 guards around me and I ended up using the hidden blades to kill about 8 of them in a hurry, dropped a second smoke bomb, and cleared all but 2.  Without the cape, I did the same thing for Sweeper and Sandman, stealing the first guard's staff, attracting attention, dropping the staff, throwing sand in a bunch of guards faces, then picking up the staff and timing the sweep as they were getting up.  My son was happy since the only thing he likes more than seeing trophies obtained is getting them himself.  (I actually started up an account on the PS3 so he could pick off some low hanging fruit in games like Pac Man Championship Edition DX.)

Thinking of hunting for Brotherhood when it comes down in price.  Don't care much about the multiplayer, but I like hearing that it's continuing the story and all I've heard is that the single player is surprisingly substantive.     I figure with God of War Collection, inFamous, FFXIII, GTA4, and Fallout 3 still sitting on my shelf incomplete I can buy time for it to come into the $20-$30 range, hopefully closer to Assassin's Creed 3's release to keep myself sharp.  There's the DLC chapters too.

The unchecking part would have been useful, especially hunting down the last 3 feathers.  I used the guide that was on msxbox-world.com which had at least a picture of what they were looking at and the map to make sure I was in the right place after I got down to about 20 feathers left.  It killed my want to go back and do the same thing for Enslaved or Uncharted at least for a while.  But when you beat the game at 90%, it seems like a crime not to get it to 100% (especially when one of those is you didn't spend 5000 florins on courtesans, I mean, the game's mocking me for not spending enough money on whores?).

I plan on doing the same thing once I finish up Enslaved. I'm setting lofty goals for my winter break.

P.S. How long did it take you hour-wise, roughly speaking?

Assassin's Creed 2 took about 15 hours as it never really challenged too much but getting the platinum on the game requires some real hunting around or a good guide like the one Tactical_Kill linked to below to help out with.   I was really impressed with Enslaved.  Really good game but it's the voice acting, animation, and script for the first 90% of the game that really sells it.  I can see some people feeling that the end came off a bit flat but I don't think it invalidated that the rest was a great ride.

Oh, and don't feed trolls who seem to come on the site every day or two to call someone a hipster or throw out a snarky comment.   Thanks.

@Daroki: Great, thanks. I doubt I'm going to try for the platinum though, who knows though.

Enslaved has been really good so far, but for me it just has a few too many tiny problems that bring the game down. It's mainly the combat, which I can't seem to get a feel for. Also the un-smooth framerate is annoying (just me?). The acting and overall presentation, though, are great. They really managed to make the characters subtly express emotions. It's all pretty impressive.
