Capcom's Tour de Force 0

Capcom really took the other developer's to school with a game that should become a franchise. Dragon's Dogma is a spit fire that really shines and rarely shows a lack of finish, although it does at times. I would suggest that every player worth their RPG salt invest some serious time in this title. We will start with the quick overview of the bad. There will be odd clipping events and the camera, in the tradition of Capcom, gets a little wild and makes it hard to focus at times. The targeting sy...

Diablo 3: Worth Skipping 0

In the world of post-release patches, video games are difficult to judge when they are young and months out of the gate. Let us hope that Blizzard is just another procrastinator. In short Diablo III is a hack and slash game that is far from perfect, but still enjoyable at times. If you crave the loot euphoria from the last installments you can forget about picking this one up for now. If you want a mediocre, resource hungry engine that delivers occasionally entertaining gameplay and a strong less...

Skyrim: Constantly on the Horizon 0

Skyrim in two words: Too Ambitious.Skyrim in a bunch of other words:Skyrim delivers what we have come to expect from Bethesda. From the moment your character wakes in the opening sequence it is immediately apparent that they spent a large amount of time developing an amazing atmosphere. The art direction and graphics are stunning, the voice actors are far from amateur, and the writing is superb. Skyrim's ambiance seeps past the screen and grasps you by your imagination. You become the hero you h...

The King of Kings 0

We have played them for years. Stat-driven role playing games make the very base of gaming culture. Whether you know it or not, the game you are playing is using the fundamentals of pen and paper role playing. To take on the world of true open role playing is a feat that deserves respect. To conquer it, that deserves your reverence. You may have heard the split reviews praising this game for it's combat system while degrading the game for it's lack of ingenuity. I have also heard and read a lot o...

Your Kung Fu is Unreal 0

The quick twitch gameplay of Unreal is rarely seen now. Some people may view it as an "old school" style of FPS gameplay, when in fact it is a completely different style and it deserves your respect. You tell me that a FPS based on hand-eye coordination and quick reflexes can't compete and I will ask you to find a professional sport that doesn't require both. It is the kind of thing that makes a Video Game a serious spectator activity. The first thing that comes to my mind when I load up UT3 is "...

Bodycount's where it counts. 0

Bodycount is not perfect, but the game has a focus that is missing in the rest of the genre, First person shooting mechanics. This is a skill game, short and simple. There are few cheap kills in Bodycount. I have played both COD and Battlefield and I was surprised to see that Bodycount uses a simple feature that the other two games are desperately missing, but that will be addressed soon enough.Per Jeff Gersmann's review, the single player campaign has a 6 hour playtime. I just finished Resistan...
