The one game that pretty much every PC gamer owns. While overrated, this game is surprisingly quality. Every play session becomes a adventure finding the resources you need in the dark deep crevices of the world. I still remember the first battle against the Enderdragon, it was surreal... until I died. The updates continue to advance the gameplay and the world.
The biggest competive FPS; Counter-Strike is great for the precision-obsessed. The greatest strength of this game is the requirement of skill and precision; however, it doesn't take too long to become good enough to go head to head with other players online.
The greatest in the token turn-based strategy series; Civ 5 perfects the formula in earlier Civ games by making strategies more complex and adding more victory paths. Add in the amazing DLC and you have a great game.
The greatest MMO I've ever played. The community and fan-base is kind and the game play is even more so. The main story line is quite well written (unlike most MMOs) and the class mechanics are fully-fledged and a great addition to the game. I can't wait to get my hands on the new expansion.
Point-and-click perfection; few games draw you in like Kentucky Route Zero. The graphics are beautiful and the story line equally so.
Blizzard's token real-time strategy game is still great five years later. While it did nothing revolutionary to the genre, it was simply a fun game with a great story mode. Multiplayer is the real beef of the game though, and it does not disappoint, the fanbase is non-toxic and a lot of fun to be a part of.
While not the most competitive or demanding MOBA, Heroes of the Storm is just plain fun. Also, who doesn't want to see Tychus fight Diablo?
