If I may start of by stating the obvious: Ubisoft Shanghai’s I Am Alive is not for everyone, but it is by no means a bad game. In fact, for the most part, it does what it sets out to do incredibly well. Enslaved: Odyssey to the West is the latest effort from Ninja Theory, developers of Heavenly Sword. The concept is loosely based on the legend of Sun Wukong, the protagonist in a classical Chinese work entitled Journey to the West. Shank, for anyone who hasn't been keeping up, is an old-school brawler with a distinctive art style. You really don't see a lot of games like this anymore, especially not at full price because in general, action games have evolved beyond the simple side-scrolling beat 'em up action that you find in a game like this. Starcraft 2 is a game that’s been a long time coming. It’s also a game that’s gotten a whole mess of negative sentiment from what I can only hope is the usual vocal minority on the internet who condemn games like this based on some weird bizzaro-world metric for what makes games fun. Yes, that's a thong in the logo. I know momma always said not to judge a book by its cover, but DeathSpank? Really?
