My band is getting ready to release an album

Edit: Wow. I totally forgot to update this.

Since January, everything has been back and forth to get everything ready for release but it's finally out. The album is on Spotify, iTunes and Amazon MP3. We've been doing some touring in Sweden and Finland and are about to do some shows in Norway so we're keeping ourselves busy.

Thanks to everyone who has showed support through this thread. You guys are really awesome.

--- Original post ---

and I'm fucking excited :P

We've spent a bunch of money and time on our first album so hopefully it'll do well. I really want the chance to make another one because we've started to pinpoint the style we like after recording the first album and all the songs we've made for the next album are hundreds of times betters. plural!

We've put out a couple of songs on YouTube for people to listen to.

Oh wow, I've seen lots of "So, my band"-threads on here over the years but someone finally managed to make something worth listening to.
I'm buying a copy and 10 more if you promise to swing by Denmark at some point.

Love the guitar and drum work. First song had me smiling from surprise, and I enjoyed the change in the second song. Keep up the great work. I'll be picking it up whenever it hits itunes.

This is some pretty great sounding stuff, man! Not the biggest fan of the vocals, but they're tolerable for me. The guitar and drumwork, and all around musicianship are top-notch. The chorus to Nightmare gave me heavy Dark Tranquility vibes.

Your music is good but the singer is not. If you guys got a good singer you would be pretty good. Like the guitar though.

This sounds really awesome. Even for the style of vocals, which I'm usually not a fan of, are really well done. They walk that fine line of sounding just aggressive enough, but aren't a garbled mess. Instrumentals are pretty amazing.

@TobbRobb: I guess more and more metal comes out of the states these days. Not that it matters too much but there used to be a Scandinavian dominance on this genre.

@destruktive:I'm in sweden, It would be kind of cool to buy an actual CD (first one in many many years in that case), I can justify it to myself with the cool album art. But I figured it would only be sold in the states.

If you provide something other than Itunes I would appreciate if you PM'd me.

@TobbRobb: There will be itunes and probably other kinds of digital releases. I'm not in charge of that part :D But there will be physical copies (The fact that I have to say that kinda sucks) but where it will be available I'm not a 100% sure of. Where in Europe are you?

good job, what is it you play in the band? i only really have fleeting affairs with this sort of metal every now and then, but i'd definitely give your album a spin,

i know everyone likes to hear their band compared to other bands (;-)) so ill just say it takes me back to At The Gates, early In Flames and maybe a bit of Unearth for some of the more drawn out screamy bits, if you get around to touring the UK, ill come to a show for sure, always prefer this kind of thing live

The more I listen it starts to grow on me. What kind of release are you talking about? Will there be any easy way to support you from europe? I tend to not like using Itunes.

Wow. I'm gone for a little while to get some food and you flooded my inbox :D

@Canteu: Thank you :) These two songs have a very "follow the guitar" kind of bass going on but there are songs that won't have that ;)

@Jams: How did you know my real name?

@Christoffer: More technical, more brutal and probably more heavy. If I had to guess :D

@Everyones_A_Critic: YES

@GeekDown: Everyone in the band takes inspiration from many different genres. But like I said we'll probably go heavier next time.

@countinhallways: Thank you. Glad you like it.

@TobbRobb: Thanks a bunch. As one half of the guitar-lineup I thank you :D

@Deusx: duly noted. I'll think of you if we need some extra stuff :)@DrLucian: I'll remember that if we ever tour throughout the states.

Hey man really awesome music. Love the drummer, he is fuckin awesome. The production is killer and the vocals are tight. You guys sound like a cross between At the Gates and Black Daliah Murder. Wich in my opinion is pretty awesome. If you guys ever want a cover design or something I would be really glad to help you out. I'm a graphic designer and illustrator, here is my potfolio I love doing stuff like this since I am a fan of all things heavy. </ disgusting self promotion> Good luck man you guys have a new fan.

This is actually real freaking good! I tend to avoid the more "screamy" vocals in preference to softer stuff, but I really didn't mind it here. That said, the guitar and drumwork is fucking amazing, and that is probably the best looking album cover I've seen in a while.

Good luck, and may Batman be with you.

@destruktive: Nicely done man this is good stuff. Waaayyyyy better than I was expecting to find posted by some random (to me) guy on these forums.

I was enjoying the first song quite a bit, all the while in the back of my head waiting for some kind of forced sounding clean chorus to come in, but to my delighted surprise, the song actually only got better. Really like the last minute or so on that one.

The change of pace in the second tune is welcome also. All in all, the more I listen to this the more I like it. And this is coming from someone who has been ferociously consuming metal for quite some time now and so is more than a little jaded with a lot of it.

Excellent stuff. I wish you all the success in the world with this!

Great stuff. Can't wait to see where you take it from here. More technical, more brutal, more mainstream? The song Nightmare kind of reminded me of The Haunted in some way. Obviously more growl though, wich I like.

Have the best of luck!!

Your drummer is fucking excellent.

Singer is actually incredible. Good vocals like this are very rare. Most people who try to scream properly fucking fail like bitches.

Guitar is very cool for me :p A little generic in parts but then fucks up convention by being awesome.

Even though i'm a bassist, just like every single band ever in this genre (except for LOG for some reason), I still can't hear it so that probably means it's just following the guitar.

I will give you money for an album, and i don't think i've paid money for music in about 10 years.

You're like a mix of Dethklok and Arch Enemy and Demon Hunter.

I love it!

Why the fuck don't you guys have a label yet... this is criminal.

The first album is more or less songs of random age. Some are up to 2 years of age. I just hope we get enough out of the first album to make a second one because the things we're making now are way more focused. The bad part about doing an album all by yourself is that it takes fooooreeever. No really. Forever..

Doesn't sound to bad considering everything except the drums were recorded in a basement underneath a kindergarten :D

@AhmadMetallic: Thank you. The songs varies a lot on this one so there might be a song you like more from the rest of the album. Not sure how much of a fan the label would be if we started to put out even more songs though :|

Very nice, totally had me headbanging, still this music takes a back seat IMO to the more thoughtful and skillful metal compositions.
For a first album it's fucking awesome, but I hope you'll grow into a more sophisticated sound than just another Lamb of God or Unearth or these other screamish 'metalcore' bands that all sound the same.

Edit: The second song is instrumentally SUPERB.

Very impressive. I could nitpick but I would just end up sounding like a dick but, honestly, it's pretty damn good. You're off to a fine start and I get the impression that your band is one of those will keep improving as they go along. Congrats.

Your guitar work is great- really like the intros, I just don't like the vocals much. I like a lot of metal bands but I can't stand death metal with all the random screaming of lyrics- I guess I just don't get it. So it isn't for me but hey, there are plenty of people who will love it. I can at least tell you that, for what you're aiming for, it's perfect- I would be exited if I were you. Good luck man!

Yeah, that album cover is pretty awesome also.

@Cloudenvy@NakAttackThat's fine. I know there's a bunch of metal heads around here somewhere ;)

@Azteck: Thank you. The cover is made by the great Colin Marks who made some awesome covers for many death metal bands including Scar Symmetry and All Shall Perish. Really glad to have him do our album. http://www.rain-song.co.uk

Yeah same as above but it's just a matter of taste. I can still tell that you guys know what you're doing though and I'm sure it will appeal to people who enjoy the genre. I wish you and your band all the best in the future.
