I generally save my incoherent rambling for my own, personal blog where no one will read it and call me out on shit, because I'm not good at making an argument - but I feel strongly enough on this topic to cross post here for a change regardless of whether I'm actually making any sense and the fact I'm beating a dead horse by now, but here goes anyway.
 
So the OFLC has released a list of things in Left 4 Dead 2 that make it ban worthy.
This list includes...

• in the early stages, a body on the ground was shot at repeatedly, a body disintegrated leaving a head on the ground with copious amounts of blood

• a fire left a visibly charred body

• a body was lying face down on a bathroom floor with a trail of blood--screaming and moaning accentuated the impact

• copious blood including repeated instances of blood splatter on camera lens

• in a store with buses and trucks, blood splatters, a body on the ground having been dragged leaving a trail of blood

• a person hanging by fingertips from a beam with fingers being stamped on, another person with arm shot off

• swords used to behead and dismember with blood everywhere

• in a swamp, with an aircraft crashed, persons being attacked, as they run towards camera some are shot with blood everywhere and fleeting glimpses of stomach entrails spilling out

• a group between several buses shot at, copious blood including on camera lens, and several heads blown off

• chainsaws used on attackers, heads cut off and lots of blood

• exclamations and coarse language from time to time accentuating the impact of acts of violence.

So in short, theres NOTHING in that list that HASN'T been in a video game before - video games that have made it through intact I might add.
Video games I probably have on my shelf.

Swords used to behead and dismember, blood everywhere? Ninja Gaiden 2.
Chainsaws used on attackers, heads cut off and lots of blood? Gears of War 1 & 2.
Foul language? In almost every game, but GTA IV would be the best example of that I think.

Heck some of these things would've been in the first Left 4 Dead, which made it in okay.

Notice how they list the blood on the camera lens thing twice, makes it look like they were struggling to come up with reasons in my book.

There are times where even if I don't agree with it, I can see the reasoning behind a banning.
Manhunt 2 for instance never made it. I would've liked to have played it. Violence doesn't offend me personally, but it's violent enough that I can see why it never came out here.

The banning of Left 4 Dead 2 and the censoring that followed however is completely unjustified.
I hate to be a broken record, but again there is nothing in Left 4 Dead 2 that hasn't been done elsewhere. 
WORSE has been done elsewhere and has made it in unscathed. There is not a single good reason on that list.

Honestly I think they need to reevaluate Left 4 dead 2.
I think if they did and perhaps did some comparisons to games they've already let in, they'd see that it's no more violent then anything we can already get a hold of - and the games we can already get a hold of haven't caused anyone any harm and neither would Left 4 Dead 2.  
 
I would like to purchase Left 4 Dead 2. I'm sure it's a great game and I'd like to support Valve so that I can have more great games.
But when your 'censored' version of a game looks like this...
 
 
 
Well I don't think you can blame me for passing.
A Zombie game with the tiniest of blood splatters, no dismemberment and no corpse piles is no Zombie game at all.

Probably Harry Potter and The Half Blood Prince.
Not that the game is terrible, exactly. There were bits of it I didn't mind.
Just the game isn't THAT much longer then the movie it's based on, which is kind of sad.

Uncharted.
Brutal Legend.
Borderlands.
Dragon Age: Origins.
New Super Mario Bros Wii .
Tekken 6 .
 
Those are my gauranteed purchases. 
I've got the first three titles (And Tekken) preordered and I'll probably have the others ordered before long also.
 
MAYBE Modern Warfare 2. Not entirely sold on it. Enjoyed the first Modern Warfare well enough.
Perhaps not enough to want to pick up it's sequel at launch. I'll probably get it at some stage, though.
 
MAYBE The Saboteur. That's an 09 release right? 
I'm thinking of waiting for reviews on this one.
It looks pretty alright, but it seems like the kind of game that despite looking neat and having an interesting premise well - seems like the kind of game that could fall flat regardless.
Fingers crossed, though.

Can't say I care too much about MOBILE PHONE games.
I don't even own a MOBILE PHONE, nor do I plan to buy a MOBILE PHONE.

More characters is always good, but I likely wouldn't play with them.
Kens about the only character I'm competant with, well him and his HADOUKEN-ing ilk.
