So while fielding various questions about the game, lead game designer MikeZ has confirmed that, at launch, you will not be able to create online lobbies exceeding two people.

"Lobbies on launch are, unfortunately, just two people. We tried diligently to get spectator mode working, but despite repeated applications of lightning on old castle roofs in the dead of night we were unable to make our single solo networking programmer split into multiple copies of himself. :^( So rather than dueling lifebars, this is what the decision was. They will be improved, however."

Basically my reaction is the same as ever when it comes to lobbies. I can't say I care that much that I don't have the option to jump into lobbies with 3+ people. I never was a fan of the bigger lobbies where you jump in, get bodied, and have to wait 4-5 more matches before I can take another shot at a guy, especially if I'm looking to get better at the game.

That said, in a later question when asked whether or not the idea of party lobbies (the devs had fielded the idea that they could setup lobbies where multiple matches could be going on at the same time rather than having a lobby environment where 6+ people have entered but only two could play at a time) their marketing rep. had this to say.

"... people responded really well to that, so it's something we'll pursue.
As soon as the game is submitted and people get some much-needed rest, we're going to figure out a patch plan that will maximize benefit and minimize time to get these features in."

So what are your guys' thoughts on this? Are lobbies an integral part of your fighting game experience? Does this effect the prospect of your purchasing the game? Or are you willing to wait for the idea of party lobbies to come into fruition?
