What is it about Dragon Ball Z that continues to keep itself in the zeitgeist? It's a show that's over 20 years old. It's a show I haven't watched in close to 15. And yet every time there's a new game, I think "that looks good, I should play that!"

A video game has never made me motion sick before but oh man, that segment on the swing set was rough!

Ha! Glad I wasn't the only one!

I recently played through Mass Effect 1. That game... hasn't aged well. The universe is great, everything you do in it isn't. Also, all the human NPCs look awful. And I still hate the Mako and all the boring copy-and-paste worlds you can visit in it.*

Some more things:

-All the sidequests suck. ALL OF THEM.**

-Dialogue is stilted and your answers don't seem to matter most of the time.

-Elevators.

-The combat is terrible.***

-Your crew members are incredibly shallow and boring. Even Wrex just stands around in the hangar, tells you some of his past exploits and that's it. Though you CAN get some old relic of his in a sidequest* on some randomly generated world that's hard to navigate in the Mako** that just features bog standard combat*** against "some dudes". Liara falls in love with you by the second time you talk to her if you decide to romance her. Tali has like 3 things to say during the course of the entire game.

God, I love the universe, but I'm seriously contemplating if ME 2 was the only good game in the series.

ONE MORE THING: Fucking Noveria. Anyone remember that one water planet in KOTOR that lets you solve some sort of court case by investigating stuff that has different outcomes based on what you found out and what you say? Noveria was Bioware trying this again and failing miserably. One example: There's some sort of corrupt security person that stops you after you break into an office. They talk to you, tell you that they're on someone's payroll, you get 3 or so dialogue options and all of them lead to an unavoidable fight, with you learning or gaining nothing from any of the options chosen. Or even their reveal, considering they are some random goon you never talked to directly outside of them interjecting once in a cutscene upon arrival on Noveria.

No jokes, Alpha Protocol is fucking incredible.

I second that. Obsidian/Black Isle are what Bioware's been trying to be since the 90s.

As someone who had no prior experience with the Mass Effect games and finished playing thru the first about a month ago, I can confirm everything you said.

Oh man this game. My ex and I tried to finish this on the All Stars pack years ago. It got to the point at like world 4 where you just have to keep sprinting to make jumps it felt like. Once we cleared world 8 we cheered so fucking loud only to be greeted by world 9... then world A!?!? What? Then B, then C, then fucking D! We never made it past world D.... god damnit!

Edit: I just looked it up and D was the last set of levels. :(

Same for me. I got all the way to D-4 and simply could not finish. I think it's the only Mario game I haven't beaten.

The art style reminded me of BIT.Trip Runner.

If enemies were vulnerable on certain beats this could have been a really cool rhythm game.

As someone who just finished The Witness, this video was very informative of all the stuff that I missed. So many environmental puzzles... Plus the Hotel thing (I had no idea)!

This was a neat game but it falls far short of The Talos Principle. While The Witness is undoubtedly the prettier game, I found the puzzles and narrative in Talos to be far more interesting and engaging.
