As someone who has been visiting this site for years and years now, I sometimes feel the crew has gotten jaded and lost their edge, or tries too hard to keep cranking out organically funny content. This video had me in stitches and really highlighted that the crew (Jeff in particular) has still got it. God damn that was funny.
I very much like this idea, BUT, I have a single gripe:
GB is unabashedly a personality-driven site, which is what its users show up for. I don't want to come across like I think this will dilute your secret sauce by including guest contributors, but I DO think guest contributions should be clearly labelled as such. If guest contributions are not clearly marked, I could see confusion arising as users see an unknown name as the author of a given article, and then struggle to determine whether this person is a guest contributor, new member of staff, or even an old member of staff for users who are new or only visit the site periodically.
Considering Dan's personality on-screen I am pleasantly surprised by his eloquent writing style ;-). Great review and sadly it's exactly what I was afraid of :-(. DICE used to be all-star developers, and now their secondary studio is clearly outdoing the main team (see BF4 at launch - a mess; compared to BF4 now that DICE LA has taken over - totally awesome). What happened, DICE? I sadly doubt that Battlefront will get the same level of support that BF4 has to make it a game that's really worth playing. Literally all they had to do was remake Battlefront II and people would have praised them as gaming Jesus...as it is now, I am still going to buy Battlefront because I have been waiting for a game like this for years, but I am not going to feel good about it. Screw you, DICE and EA.
