So for fans of the series, if I have never played any Dynasty Warriors game is the latest one worth jumping into? I'm legitimately curious, and my understanding is that most of the problems with the series stem from the multiple releases that are all too similar to each other. I remember liking that Ninety-Nine Nights game for what it was, just throwing a bunch of enemies on the screen and mashing them into existence. Will this get a similar feel?

Yeah, this latest one would be worth jumping into. DW8XL is probably the most "complete" game in the Warriors series, I'd say. It's got a lot going for it. Since 7 they've changed some things for good (and learned from DW6). I don't know if I'd call the multiple releases being similar to each other a drawback, a lot of people I know come back mostly because they know it's a formula that hasn't changed but yeah, it should have a similar feel to the game you're asking about.

The game is ridiculous and you could sink a lot of hours into it, if you're into it.

If Patrick starts doing articles about Dynasty Warriors he could force me into a relapse. I just can't have that. I've cut myself off since the early days of ps3...

It's the perfect time to get in again.

DW8XL's got what you need, buddy. You need some Lu Bu? They've got it. Just a taste if all you've been looking for is a Lu Bu campaign.

Just a taste.

I'm gonna get fired.

Anime Vice is probably looking to hire a Senior Dynasty Warriors Editor for what it's worth!

Damn, server seems full.

Servers will open up at times throughout the day to allow for character creation.

Patrick: Complains with "just shut up already" about Leeland Yee linking video games to violence but at the same time writes several articles about how video games are sexist.

Giant Bomb user complains about A Thing, tries to link them somehow.

Did you just write a post about your own post? That is actually kind of awesome.

It works on all levels!

To summarize: a bunch of male Giant Bomb community members dictate to a bunch of women what they're allowed to find sexist.

Good work, internet. Knocked it out of the park.

This sums it up pretty nicely.

No one says anything remotely sexist, but you guys sure want to pigeon-hole them as such. They complain about the article, they criticise the frequency, the sound-noise ratio, but nope, they're all just entitled nerds.

How about they read the articles, but you stop reading their comments? No one is forcing you to.

I agree with this guy. Delusional attitudes like his are not the problem. It's the fact you read them. Little boys just want their corner to rage in.

PS. My denial of male privilege perpetuates sexism, but I've said nothing sexist so get off my back.

But no one said anything remotely sexist, people are just pigeon-holing it as such.

If you don't like these features, don't read them.

But with my privilege I feel I must say that this is all okay, and that these women are just getting all feminazi on me for stating the truth.

@EnduranceFun: I didn't say anything about invading. I said that there's apparently some overlap with GB commenters who'd fit right in with MRA types.

This shit is kind of an issue: http://gbitk.net/ii/

Reading some of the comments I wasn't sure if I was reading GB comments or /r/MensRights.

Apparently there's some overlap, still.
