My 2021 Games Ranked By Science

I'm going to put every game I play this year ranked from first to last. I am using the scientific method. Or my stupid opinions, either way.

List items

  • Gamepass. Bad physics platformer adventure thing. It controls about as sluggish as you would expect a fish rolling a bowl to be, but that's not good.

  • Gamepass. Looked like it had some promise with some nice graphics and decent humour, but it quickly devolves into very sloppy action platforming, with barely legible attacks that are difficult to dodge. I probably only tried this because it had a goose in it, anyway.

  • I heard this was one of the best euroshmups out there and was unpleasantly disappointed. Compared to Sky Force this feels extremely slapdash. Yes it's an older, rougher game presentation and graphics-wise, but even the enemy spawns and legibility of attacks is rough. I can see why euroshmups get a bad rap if this is supposed to be one of the better ones, but I can't imagine that there aren't some other good ones out there like Sky Force Reloaded.

  • My further foray into beginner shmups, mainly the "euro" kind, however arbitrary that term can be. This one came highly recommended and I just think it's alright so far. After trying a few more euroshmups I'm starting to wonder if Sky Force is an outlier and maybe I should try some more traditional Japanese style games. Or maybe I just specifically like Sky Force, lol.
