My experience with the low latency stuff on Retroarch so far (using Linux) has been more trouble than it seems to be worth. It causes a lot of sound problems on my main machine I use with Retroarch and I couldn't find a combination of settings that would make it work without any issue. Using an NES core with SMB I could only see a one frame difference anyway, still feels great to play without the latency settings enabled.

I guess different cores that you play with may affect it too, I may have to try it when I am playing something different at a later date.

This made me build a stick and I didn't even play fighting games.

Initially I held no interest for this game either but the building mechanics and faster, more arcadey gameplay style compared to pubg make it a nice change of pace. It's a lot more fun to play than just watching a couple of streams, so give it a try since it's free.

Doesn't quite get the heart racing like the top 10 in pubg though, guess it just doesn't build the same kind of tension.

Now wondering if i can get a Waluigi #1 sign on TV at the darts next month.

@billmurray: Excellent show, some of the pro darts players of the time disliked that sketch a lot.

@flagsdev: I think some of the draw at the moment (for others at least) is that it's marketed very simply as it's Quake and it's fast. Which is partly true and will pull in some of the crowd from other games who have a passing interest in Quake, from nostalgia or hearsay. Aswell as pulling in some of the Quake Live audience who got shafted after the ridiculous update they pushed to that a while back (remember the timers, loadouts, etc patch?).

Then there's the pro scene who ofcourse are going to flock to the possibility of a new Quake game on a stage. Thanks to Bethesda throwing money at Quakecon and big esports orgs picking up plenty of older QL pros and the like. It all just seems to me like it will be very short lived and the player base will fall all over again very quickly.

I hope I'm wrong even though I don't really enjoy watching or playing QC. The lack of mods, customization and the butchering of the classic duel mode are all a massive no-no for me, but if people like it enjoy it while it lasts I guess.

I started going through the original trilogy recently floating the idea of playing this one eventually, but holy shit the more I see of this the more I just want to skip playing it entirely.
