Day 1 - Movies

As a ground rule for all these lists, this is solely 100% my opinion. I'm not trying to say this is the definitive top 10 (anything) list, nor am I saying I'm right. These are just my personal favorites.

With that out of the way, here are my top 10 favorite movies. To get on this list, it had to be a movie that I can and have watched over and over, and could enjoy even if I popped in right now. Let's get going...

10. The Sandlot

This is just one of the classic movies that has a special "thing" about it. The way the narration carries over it, and the actors look and act, just makes it one of those feel good movies that I always go back to from my childhood.

9. What About Bob?

The movie that solidified Bill Murray as a genius for me. Ghostbusters, Shmostbusters. What About Bob? was the real deal for me, and made me die laughing, and still does, over and over again.

8. Dumb and Dumber

Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels were just incredible in this movie. Masterwork in acting, absolutely hilarious delivery, and many memorable parts.

7. The Cable Guy

What? Jim Carrey was the man. Or... is it Ricky Ricardo?

6. Falling Down

What, not a comedy? This movie is the shit, and Michael Douglas doesn't take any from anybody.

5. School of Rock

What? I'll be honest: I'm not a fan of Jack Black, but the way he acts in this movie is just amusing, and I find myself watching this one from time to time.

4. Christmas Vacation

This movie makes me sad that you just don't see any chevy chase movies anymore... or good ones at least. Fuckin' epic:

3. Home Alone

Anyone that grew up in the 80s and 90s should know this movie. John Hughes you will be missed. Here's the only decent clip I could find, and it's a user montage with music over it. Sorry, they must be sticklers about footage of this movie:

2. Anchorman

Will Ferrell is very hit and miss with me, but when he's on, he hits a home run. This movie is both ridiculously ridiculous, and legendary. for a movie not really all that old, that's something. Here's some amusing clips of Steve Carell:

and without further ado, the movie that I enjoy the most, and also makes me laugh the most...

1. Planes, Trains, and Automobiles

Many people I know have not seen this movie, which is a shame because the dynamics between Steve Martin and John Candy are just absolutely hilarious and genius. Even if you don't like Steve Martin (the main reason most people didn't want to watch this movie), he's amazing in this movie. Trust me, do yourself a favor and watch this one if you like comedies at all.

So there you have it. Yeah, mostly comedies... but what can I say, I'm a goofy guy and I love to laugh.

Come back tomorrow to see my top 10 favorite TV shows!

Later.

Points for Dumb and Dumber, Cable Guy, Christmas Vacation, Anchorman, School of Rock and Home Alone.  I have never seen the rest including Planes, Trains and Automobiles but heard great things about it that maybe I should pick it up tomorrow for DVD to see if I enjoy it.  My main genre is comedy also and probably a good majority of my DVD collection is comedy since it always cheers me up laughing at some guy's silly escapades while I'm down.

If its alright with you, will do one myself soon. :P

haha, What About Bob's lake scenes were filmed at a lake about 30 minutes from where I live. Our family used to own a house there, we watched that movie atleast once every year out there. Not Murray's best, but holds a special place in our hearts. Cool to see you like it.
