Everyone that has worked freelance and been told to submit on spec, everyone that has worked with freelancers, everyone that knows a freelancer, etc., all know that spec work if fucking garbage for everybody that isn't the moneyman in the scenario.
I've long since given up on Dan caring about worker's rights, or him understanding the privilege he has had, or even doing anything other than side with the giant corporation in things. So this isn't even a fight I'd bother having with him. But most people just don't know.

I think the series has been fucking garbage all along. I tried playing KH1 when I was 14 and thought it was terrible. The story was garbage, the combat was awful, the controls were poor. Each time I check in on it it has gotten more convoluted in every way.
Turns out there is room for more than one opinion. And you need to get thicker skin when people make some pretty innocuous comments on video in which they are giving their opinions about E.V.E.R.Y.T.H.I.N.G. they are seeing. They aren't insulting you. They are talking shit about a video game series that they don't give a fuck about.
And if you think "literally all of games people" don't like the series, then maybe you need to go to Metacritic and see the absurdly high scores almost all of the games in the series have. But I suppose that doesn't fit your narrative, and you especially are being trodden on by the big bad games media.
@fixerofdeath: I'm empathetic to the people whose lives he made worse. I'm empathetic to the people that had to deal with such a raging asshole. I'm not empathetic to people who deliberately, maliciously used their position to attack those with a lower social standing for no other reason than that was what they *wanted* to do.
If that makes me a bad person in the eyes of some internet people that clearly have no one in their lives that has been at the bottom end of the boot of his, or even someone like his, then so be it. I've made my choice to throw in my lot with the victims, not the abusers.

It's crazy to think that GB owes a shithead a eulogy, especially when they had no real ties to the dumb fuck.
Instead of writing multiple paragraphs to multiple people in here about how you think he is owed a eulogy, you should go on Twitter and read some of the things women have said regarding his asshole mob of followers that he directed at them. Discount all of that, numerous times he would direct his followers to a game dev knowing full well that his fans are ravenous children that do nothing but attack. He never once tried to say, "hey, guys, I know this game sucks, but don't be an asshole about it. Making bad games is tough, making good games is very difficult. Attacking someone over this isn't going to make anything better. In fact, they read and see the criticism, they know their game is poor, attacking them personally will only make things worse for them going forward."
He knew the hammer that he wielded, and he swung it at nails, and heads alike with zero regard for the actual thing on the receiving end. He aimed to hurt, and he took glee in it.
You want a eulogy from GB that might be a slightly nicer version than that? What does that get you. They aren't going to play some identity politics bullshit game. If they get attacked for not saying anything, they clearly don't care. And good for them on it.

He is a moderately large internet personality, he did nothing positive for gaming other than be one voice of many, and the list of shit he did to make women, and others, feel less safe, including leading gamergate assholes is plenty long.

I have so far found the Unrated version digitally available from Microsoft, Google Play, and Amazon, but only for purchase ($10-$13) and NOT for rent. What a buzzkill. With that said I'll go ahead and also admit that the Unrated version is also difficult to find illicit copies of. It must be *bad*.
Yea. I first rented the original version, then went to some sites for a dirty copy of the unrated version, couldn't find any, uhh, links with any generous donors...so I just bought it on YouTube since I had a $5 off purchase coupon there.
@philipduck: The closest the GB guys get to journalism is when they review games. Which is why Jeff didn't skip the cut scenes in his play through. Dan is just a dude trying to enjoy a game, and him blowing past the bullshit is the best way for that.
And even if he were reviewing it, if he wrote, "I tried to follow the story for a few hours, but it got to be so bad that I proceeded to skip the cutscenes and all dialogue. My experience improved greatly after cutting that out." It would have been completely fine. As long as he is telling his subjective POV, and detailing how and why he enjoyed it, there is no problem.
@philipduck: Why would anybody pay attention to the garbage characters and story in this game? Ignoring that shit is the only way to enjoy something that bad.
