Yeah, guess I created a bit of a monster here. Was just curious about where people stood on what to me just seemed like a bit of a dirty trick to get clicks that was taken too far. Turns out people just have pretty extreme views one way or the other, and approach the topic with a whole lot of unexpected baggage. Yikes, my bad.

@CptBedlam: Nope. Just wanted to gauge a reaction to the idea that the slow drip review, normally and logically reserved for MMO's, was being used for a game that could be reviewed in one go. So... relax dude.

Hopefully this, like the credit card information save on 3DS, is a sign that Nintendo had a discussion about fixing the direction of their downloadable approach.

I do think the discussion result is better than the pure math one though. I guess the system works!

Also, it's great that the accomplishments are retroactive. It was nice getting 8 or so immediately when I downloaded the update, rather than have to redo it all.
