"May I just introduce myself, my name is Exile" - 08/07/2008

Welcome back to my second blog everyone. What I aim to do with this blog is give you an insight into what im playing and what im looking forward to as well as whats going on in my personal life. So... might as well get started with it.

What i'm playing

I have just finished playing Colin McRae: DiRT the other night and enjoy it very much. I was brought to playing the game after completing Race Driver: GRiD and I enjoyed them both very much. I plan on getting a review for them both up soon but I want to highlight the two games similarities and where I think the series could be going and how I think it could be improved. Next on my list of games to play is Battlefield: Bad Company which i am looking forward to. I have played the first couple of missions already just to get a feel for the game and I can see myself enjoying it very much. An interesting game on my list is Super Smash Bros... Melee. I don't have a Nintendo Wii and I don't see the need to because of the lack of games that arnt completely family or party based. So I managed to get hold of a Nintendo GameCube and bought the game for £18 which is quite a lot considering it has been released for almost 6 years now. Anyways I couldn't find for any less without the trouble of buying it on the internet. Just got to wait for my £6 GameCube to arrive when my mate can be bothered. Finally I am also playing Saints Row on and off after buying it for a laugh. Well really I bought it because I had just turned 18 and wanted to buy something that was 18 rated. That's it for games that i'm playing at the moment, now on games Im looking forward to.

What i'm looking forward to

I am really looking forward to a whole bunch of games, mainly one's that where annouced at E3. Firstly Soul Calibur IV. I know, it's already out but i'm not getting it till I have finished Battlefield: Bad Company. I love the look and feel of this game, it feels a lot more tuned compared to the last SC game I played which was SC2. The graphics look crisp and from what I have seen from a demo and watching some friends play, a very stable frames rate for a fast paced game. The customization is one thing that really attracted me to this game, being able to customize your favourite character to make your favourite fighting style makes for a very interesting online experience. Another game thats already out but I really want, Unreal Tournament III. Again just a game I havn't managed to get my hands on yet. I love all UT games and III is no exception. I got a chance to play the PC version of the game on a decent system and loved it and the 360 version of the game took a while to release. So much so it's release was a bit quiet. However putting UTIII on Xbox Live is a great decision and i'm sure that the online play has a friendly competative community that's just waiting to blow you to pieces in a thousand different ways.

What's going on in my life

A lot has happened recently, mostly concerning University. I have been trying to find a part-time job recently, to no avail. At this time most places arnt hiring until around december, but I need to find something that will see me through Uni. I'll keep looking though until i'm successful :D. I have finally sorted out student accommodation. I had to decide between two places. One that was endorsed by the university itself but the biggest problem was that it was nearlly 2 miles away from the university and wasnt very nice but affordable. or another that was across the road from the university (Not joking, straight across the road) Very VERY nice and only affordable if I could find a way of borrowing £900+ from family because my student loan hadn't been processed yet. Anyways I was able to borrow the money from my parent on condition that I pay back the second my money goes in. I move in on September 6th which is about 2 weeks before Uni starts.

Well that's enough for now I'll have some more to talk about next time. Got to sort out a few more things for Universityby the end next week so until next time cya!

"Exile's first GiantBomb blog" - 08/03/2008

Hey all this is my first of hopefully many blog's now that I have made the switch from GameSpot (BOO!) to GiantBomb (YAY!). That means a brand new beginning and a clean slate to work with. I normally like to play and review pretty much any Xbox 360 game (or any other games for that matter) that I can get my hands on. I thought i'd take this time to introduce myself, I will be adding to the "About Me" section more later when I have some more time. Anyways I am an 18 year old computer games design student from the UK. I am about to start university this September as well as a brand new independent lifestyle which should be interesting. I am moving out to student accomedation even though I live in the town where the university is that I am attending. What I would like to do in the future is to post my progress of my course here on GiantBomb maybe showing game projects that I am working on as well as other stuff. In my third year I actually work with a games design studio for a full year so I'd love to document that here.

I think that's enough of an introduction to myself, as I have said I will add more to it later (when I can think of more to say about myself). I will now talk about what most of you (if any, but hopefully that will change) came here for, games :D. I have got some new games over te last couple of weeks.Starting off with Battlefield: Bad Company which is looking great so far. Ninja Gaiden II which I have played quite a bit of so far and I am loving every minute of it. I have just finished with Race Driver: GRID so that will be the first game I review here on GiantBomb and the other games as soon as I have finished with them.

Just a note before I go you can keep track with what I am playing as well as play on Xbox Live with me by adding my gamertag which is "Omega xSGOx" or by clicking this link

Well thats enough for now I dont post blog's by a schdule, normally between work, playing games and writing reviews so check back whenever you can. In the meantime cya till the next time.
