Last month: Elden Ring for Steam, thanks to Green Man Gaming knocking $10 off.

A few hours ago: Hot Wheels Unleashed; and not just some of the Hot Wheels: All of the Hot Wheels since all of the DLC got bundled into one purchase back in September.

From the perspective of someone who doesn't listen to Denzel Curry and is pretty lukewarm towards this current era of rap music: This is a good album. I remember Fantano being pretty positive towards it, and I can see multiple tracks from this album being included in various block party playlists and similar social gatherings.

But that's kinda it for me. I don't follow this current era of rap very closely because my interests lie more with technical death metal. Denzel is one of the few names that have registered with me over the years though Fantano's reviews, but I was never curious enough to actually listen to the albums that where reviewed; which applies to more than just TA13OO.

So... yeah. I kinda don't much to say here.

I'm getting the impression that Jeff getting fired is taking precedence over putting together a Halloween playlist...

I gotta keep this short since I'm a little behind schedule on my paintings:

This is my first Bowie album despite knowing about him for decades thanks to various pop culture references including That 70''s Show, Zoolander, and Metal Gear Solid 5's licensed soundtrack. I liked what I was listening to, mainly the industrial tracks such as Heart's Filthy Lesson, but the weirder interludes have some charm as well. But, it is a little difficult for me to take it all in. It's less of an album for causal listening, and more of an overall experience that takes time to fully absorb without any distractions, like a stage play; which is something that I very much appreciate given how I've been going on and on about albums that need more than a weekend or even a week in order to give them their proper dues. So, at roughly two laps of the album, it seems like a good proper into to Bowie.

Might as well throw some recommendations my way, if not allow me to fully hijack this thread, since I haven't had an Android tablet since the Google Nexus 7 (though I've been using Android phones since the first gen Moto G), and I'm pretty set on getting a Galaxy Tab S6 Lite 2022/Refresh, so, keep those specs in mind. And don't give me any hardware recommendations, please. My decisions will only lead to your frustration.

So, some info to work with:

  • I'm already familiar with Pokemon Go, the Asphalt games, Yu-Gi-Oh! Dual Links and Master Duel, Genshin Impact, Honkai Impact 3rd, Tower of Fantasy, that mobile game that's based on a hentai Action Taimanin, Dead Trigger 1 and 2, Dissidia Final Fantasy 00, Need for Speed: Most Wanted 2012, and UNO, so I can only add one more waifu/husbando collection simulator to the list.
  • I'm not really interested in emulating older consoles and handhelds these days, especially since I still have a working 2DS XL and an OLED Vita.
  • If what you want to mention also exists on Steam, let me know. My 2080 Ti isn't e-waste yet.
  • iPads aren't an option due to their lack of expandable storage - I don't have a NAS (yet), so loading my legally purchased and ripped DVDs and Blu-rays onto a 1TB SD card makes more sense to me than being subbed to 10 different streaming services, especially in situations where the Wi-Fi isn't working and I don't want to burn though my monthly mobile data limit, which is only 4GBs a month.
  • No more shooters. Mouse and keyboard has spoiled me since 2015.
  • The more console-like a game is, the more that controller support becomes a mandatory feature.
  • GeForce Now isn't an option since I already gave Nvidia $1,200 in 2019, but Game Pass is a consideration, so let me know how the performance is with 5 GHz Wi-Fi.
  • And bonus points if someone can get Senran Kagura New Link running in English.

Greetings fellow gaming ghosts and ghouls of Giant Bomb! Today, I shall present to you all a special event of a sorts from the Giant Bomb Album Club of which we hope you'll enjoy: our Spooky Scary Halloween playlists!

Spooky Scary Halloween Tracks - Vol 1
YouTube
Spotify

Spooky Scary Halloween Tracks - Vol 2
YouTube
Spotify

"But Faceless" you may be asking, "Why is Volume 2 so empty?" Well how perceptive you are to ask, because, while the first volume was formed by the members of our Discord server (of which you should totally join), we got the idea to have the general Giant Bomb community form the second playlist. But, before we start sharing our menacing melodies... a few ground rules to cover:

  • Embedding videos is strongly discouraged. I am hosting these playlists on my YouTube and Spotify accounts, so links to the individual tracks are preferred. If you post a wall of embedded videos, I will be petty and ignore your post.
  • Only use YouTube as the source for the songs you'd like to include. Like I said, I'm hosting these videos on YouTube and Spotify, not Vimeo or Dailymotion. So, no linking to that Smut Peddler's video. You know the one. And also after watching it, there's no fucking way that we're linking to it here either, community rules aside.
  • In case we've already added a track that you're thinking of, check volume 1first.
  • No submitting full albums, EPs or mixtapes, just a few tracks from each artist. The point is to have a variety of artists and genres, not for one or two artists to dominate the playlist.
  • No submitting more than five songs per day. Another point is to also have a variety of people participating.
  • Do not post music created to promote a hateful agenda. (Examples: White supremacist country music, nazi punk, minstrel songs, and so on.) Also, let's be respectful to those who do not wish to hear homophobic slurs and veer away from submitting songs that include such content regardless of context (Auntie Diaries isn't Halloween themed anyway) - a third main point is to have fun, not challenge other people's ideologies and comfort levels. And also, no Kanye West.
  • Additional volumes may be a thing. I don't see a lot of people actually listening to a 4-hour-long playlist (and frankly, 2 hours and 20 minutes is pushing it), so, depending on how this goes, each playlist will be roughly 2 hours long.
  • And lastly, for the sake of my sanity, the last day to submit a track is November 7th 2022, at 11:59 PM EST. After that, maybe we'll do this again next yer. ...Maybe.

And with that out of the way, let's have a hauntingly good time putting together a phantasmal playlist.

Well folks, for those in the back who haven't noticed yet, I think it goes to show that not every metal fan is on the same wavelength. And if this album is going to be looked back on as the most pretentious album of the season one picks, I will gladly accept it.

The thread title speaks for itself: The proudly made-in-Poland, The Witcher 1, is getting remade with Unreal Engine 5 in collaboration with another Polish studio, Fool’s Theory, has as some veteran CDPR people on board who worked on the original game.

For those who only played 3 (which is probably most of us): The original Witcher game released as a PC (and Mac) exclusive back in 2007. This game does not play like The Witcher 3. Monster slaying in the first game is less about hitting the X, X, X and the Y, Y Y. It is more akin to a Eurojank version of Dance Dance Revolution with swords. But to speak as someone who actually played at least half of the first game, it's not as alienating as I'm humorously describing it as; I got used to the more rhythm and stance based combat, but the first game's stronger points are with the story, characters, and having your choices actually matter. So, speculatively speaking, we're getting a graphical overhaul, a gameplay overhaul to at least match The Witcher 3, bug fixes, maybe some retconing here and there, getting the more current voice cast back in the booth to update the audio quality, and I'll go as far to say that The Witcher 2 is getting similar treatment for the sake of console players finally having the entire trilogy on one generation of Xbox or PlayStation.

I got the announcement from Steam, but I'm sure that other sites are mirroring it.
