tl;dr Remember this game from when Jeff and Drew did the QL. Just loaded up what I think is the sequel availible on the switch... and boy does it run oddly smooth. Totally expected it to churn, knowing what the game was. So far seems like a delight, mapped out controls well, just an all-around good package from what I expected would be the opposite. Allight I'm out!

@faux_x: What volumes does it speak? That was literally me trying to figure out what you meant by saying that it "says a lot" and that it "spoke volumes". The way you denounce people you disagree with is extremely vague and general.

Let me be a little more clear with you then. The fact that there is dissent over the group calling out someone who tarnished the image of VRby both deciding to mess with the election in borderline slimy ways as well as collaborating with a racist group to do so, says a lot. It reveals that there are a lot of people who rather defend his grimy actions that support the crews right to have an opinion. Again, it says a lot and speaks volumes.

BTW. The reason the way I denounce people who I disagree with might seem extremely vague and general to you might be because I don't call people names, or make jokes about them. But I don't know you tell me.

@faux_x: I have no doubt you've experienced racism way more than would fit any white guys scope of understanding of it. But it's still an ignorant thing to essentially say that white people don't understand that racism is bad.

Where I live, white people have been extremely active against racism in ways of politics and protests etc way more than the minorities themselves have (I live in Finland to be clear). That's not a knock on minorities by any means, but rather I'm trying to make a point that it has been white people who have been aggressively championing most if not all European anti-racist policies and movements of late. White people aren't as regressive as you make them sound to be (unintentionally or not).

edit: Sorry for the offtopic.

I never said that.

Please show me where I said "white people don't understand that racism is bad." or something to that effect?

My little opinion:

Hottest Mess in Actual Video Games: No Man's Sky followed immediately by Street Fighter V; which continues to have fundamental bugs in the online 9 months after launch. SFV **STILL** does not correctly show connection bars and country flags of lobbies, making it very frustrating to find matches when you don't wanna play ranked. There is also an issue of one sided lag in all online modes which is grossly unfair when you're the one getting the lag.

Palmer Luckey was a clusterfuck that was not only a mess for the games industry but merged together with the mess that was the 2016 elections. The way he vanished and hasn't been heard from gives it an even weirder tone. It was all made worse by the gaming press / America's political climate because of the stigma towards Trump supporters. I am looking forward to seeing if he suddenly just shows up at events again lol.

He should have just owned up to it and said it got a little bit out of hand and then repaired some bridges, trying to talk around it only made it worse.

Did think Alex was gunning a bit too hard for it though.

Another thing thing you have to understand. When I say, especially in a room full of white guys, is that technically, they have no reason to stand up against it. Who would they be standing up for? Certainly no one in that room (which says a lot, in a good way). Anyway, way to jump to conclusions.

Uh, you can't say anything to someone for 'jumping to conclusions' when you essentially just said that white people won't get that racism is bad. What kind of rock are you living under? I am really tired of the patronising comments against white people that have been occurring over the last two years. Does this mean white people have to deal with racism? No, but it doesn't change that the comments are bad.

What you just said explains exactly why White people usually don't understand the extent to which racism exist, and why it is bad. You feel so safe & comfortable in this country that you literally just said "I am really tired of the patronising comments against white people that have been occurring over the last two years." OH YEA?! I am really tired of the patronizing comments said about people of my color FOR THE LAST 35 YEARS OF MY LIFE! Further more, if it where just comments I would be good, but it's not just comments. It's the attitude, treatment, disrespect, and disregard of and toward people who are anything but white buddy. So the next time you get all hot and bothered about the last 2 years, take more than a half a minute and think about what other people have dealt with their whole lives.

@spaceinsomniac: Well said and I can understand where you are coming from in not wanting to falsely accuse someone of something they did not do, or are not a part of. And you're right in saying that creating an atmosphere in which people can just claim people are doing something they are not is a dangerous prospect. However, I have several problems with this argument. I am not claiming he is racist, nor am I claiming he is a white supremacist. To be clear, I don't think alex did either. In fact, I haven't read one article saying or claiming those things (and if you have one please link it). What I have read is the fact that he was supporting a group of people who have known ties to the alt-right (so much as you can say an internet group has ties to anything). This is key. The question then becomes, how can a person knowingly support a group of people who traffic in hate? It's no question who he has dealt with namely Milo Yiannopoulos (who has claimed to be part of the alt-right (white supremacists) and was banned from twitter due to his race baiting. In fact, he had to use Milo in order to vouch for his validity in r/thedonald which says a lot in it self. This place on reddit that you say yourself is not racist, yet required a racist to convince the majority that Palmer was legit. In any other case where a person was being accused of something with ABSOLUTELY no merit, then yea, I would def agree that they should not be subject to having their name disgraced. In this case, there is absolutely too much evidence to ignore his disgraceful actions. If what he was doing was on the up & up he would have no reason to hide. Who cares if he supported trump, there are a ton of trump supporters on TV everyday, superpac funders, donators, surrogates. None of them are hiding and doing their actions behind monikers. If what he was doing was only restricted to pushing online memes why didn't he just explain himself. Surely people say "oh he couldn't bc the industry", Thats bs. Peter Thiel is quite open in his support of trump. So what is there to hide? All of this points to shady activity. Supporting a racist group is what it is. Gross. And you might not believe that's what he did, but there are a lot of things surrounding this case which say otherwise.

@faux_x so the fact they are white guys means they have never experienced racism good to know. :

I would explain what I meant but @whatshisface said it best. "More than likely they were never on the receiving end of racism."

Furthermore. cherry picking from my response in order to make it look bad, way to go.

@spaceinsomniac: Look bro, I'm not going to scour the internet to find racist people saying racist things. I could, try and look through "Nimble Americas" archived posts but even if I found something, you would most likely just counter that it could be argued that it might have not been said by him, and that it's not provable. I could take his off comments like "‘If I grew up in “da hood" it would make my story so much more interesting" as a dismissal of the struggles inherent in growing up in the hood, and as a tell about how he thinks/or doesn't think about certain people. But what for? At the end of the day, racists have a way of obfuscating their biases, similar in the way that he immediately deleted his accounts. I'm not gonna play that game. I've been there. I've seen how quickly those who commit racist actions deny the basis for their treatment. So if you're asking me to PROVE Palmer is racist, I can't. In the same way no one can prove that anyone is racist unless they come right out and say it... and I think we all know how often that happens. So you continue on your plausible deniability bent. But, all I can say is, anyone who has ANY affiliation with the "alt-right" has some explaining to do. Not to me, but to themselves.

For all the people saying Palmer is not racist/ not a trump supporter blablabla... get learned.

Direct quote from Business Insider

The issue isn't whom Luckey supports for president, but the origins of the group Nimble America: a subreddit called "/r/The_Donald" that's directly associated with the growing alt-right movement. And the alt-right movement is associated with white nationalism, anti-Semitism, conspiracy theorists, and Gamergate supporters, for starters.

1. The group he started was started through the subreddit of /r/The Donald (So that ends the whole... he didn't support trump and was only against Hillary thing.

2. Nimble America, the group he almost singlehandedly funded was DIRECTLY associated with the "alt-right" an OPENLY RACIST movement.

so please spare the whole "oh he didn't really even do anything talk.

@thugg1280: Not at all. I don't believe that any of them are racist (at least I hope not). When I say that, it is to say that I am 100% positive that none of them are black, asian, indian, hispanic... meaning that they don't know the full experience of encountering racism on a daily, weekly, monthly, yearly basis in this country. So when they are standing up against it, it shows that they can at the least realize it is a thing and stand up against it, which is super powerful.

Another thing thing you have to understand. When I say, especially in a room full of white guys, is that technically, they have no reason to stand up against it. Who would they be standing up for? Certainly no one in that room (which says a lot, in a good way). Anyway, way to jump to conclusions.
