Xbox Live Genius

Just as Xbox Live, PSN, and the App store before it, Rock Band Network is using a method of sorting that is just not sufficient in letting good songs rise up and crap songs linger in obscurity. Rock Band Network is serving as the prime example because it both a) has an obscene amount of content and b) its content is music and thus a direct correlation to the compared matching service.

Music, like games, is something that is liked and disliked based on personal preference. I don't particularly enjoy the Beatles, this is not because they are a bad band, but because they play music that does not fit my taste. If the Beatles were on the Rock Band Network, they would be rated very highly, and this does not reflect what I would like to see highlighted on the service. What Rock Band Network (and Xbox live and PSN) should have is a service like Genius (Apple's similar music finding service) that finds like-tracks to the ones I enjoy in order to match me with things that I would both enjoy and purchase for their profiting. Similarly, this is something that Xbox Live and PSN should look at to better match the videogame playing individual with a game that they can enjoy and exchange for currency.
