Any Dark Souls III spoilers this week? I only started the game last night but young Bradley was a little trigger happy with game info last week.

I finished it last night and I was quite disappointed at the end of it all. That first hour or so of the game, your first day on the job that Campo Santo have been showing everyone, it's a great vertical slice and it's definitely the best part of the game. It's just such a shame it never takes off from there.

I really wish they had more of the manual task work, a bit more gameplay than walking, talking and looking at notes. Less of the paranoia/conspiracy theory stuff would have helped too because by the end of it I felt the plot had jumped the shark a little. I really think this missed the mark by being a purely story driven experience, that wide open setting in the wilderness is painfully at odds with the basic linear design of the game and it wound up feeling very artificial.

And all of this is before the technical issues on PS4 marred my enjoyment of the game in general. Aside from stuttering every couple of seconds and poor framerate, my game froze up once and a certain conversation wouldn't load for me at one point so I had to save/reload numerous times. The sad thing is it's not even that intensive of a game so I don't understand why it's been so poorly optimised. I had been looking forward to this experience for so long and sadly I just feel like Olly Moss' great art direction deserves better.
