@aoi: I see your points. However without steam and software like it piracy would turn the PC into a system that is too costly to develop for. At least steam are keeping the piracy fearing publishers at bay and keeping games coming to the PC.

Jasondesante is correct, MW2 did use steamworks. So the steamworks announcement for MW3 is no surprise. The announcement of dedicated servers is what has changed here.
Calm down people, CS:S is not going anywhere. All because the noobs will flock to the new game, and your source of easy kills will be there, that is no reason to cry about CS coming to console. FYI, CS on console already existed on the original xbox.
