This is really impressive... I just picked up SHC in the VR sale after loving the demo and enjoying the little documentary Waypoint did on it. Haven't spent much time with it yet, but it's a real cool pick up and play sorta game that I can hopefully get decent at. But probably not this good.

Nah, they're not really recycled. They tried to do similar things with some, I guess (Throne Watcher and Defender struck me as "O&S was great, let's do that again!", the Gargoyles, Sinh very much felt like a Kalameet rehash, uh, just straight up Ornstein - maybe you're right), but for the most part, they were just unimpressive and fell flat. I guess what did it for me, was there were very few that I had to bang my head against, and then felt immense satisfaction when I finally beat them. Fume Knight probably comes closest to that Demon's/Dark 1 feel for me.

Fire Emblem Awakening is my favorite game on the system, it's a really great game.

As for little eShop stuff you may overlook, I found Attack of the Friday Monsters to be really charming, that might be a good pickup if it looks like it might appeal to you. Warning though, it's very light on gameplay, you're really just playing through the story.

Hmmm... I'll give this a shot, but not sure I can order them.

From Demon's:

Maneater, Allant, Flame Lurker

From Dark:

Kalameet, Manus, Artorias, O&S

From Dark 2:

Fume Knight

From Bloodborne:

Logarius, Gehrman

Honorable mention to Vicar and Ebrietas.

Man, this makes me realize that Dark Souls 1 has so many good, memorable bosses, and Dark Souls 2... does not.

Edit: And as the next list proves, some people really dig Dark Souls 2 :) Might be down to which one you played first.

It's Dark Souls 1 for me, because I know that game so well, and can either hop in to help someone out in coop, or start a new character and breeze through trying a weapon I haven't used a lot or something. Even knowing it so well and almost never dying at this point (although odd things happen in every run, and they're fun to experience), it's still satisfying but not at all stressful.

I played all the way through Borderlands 1, Borderlands 2, several DLC packs in BL2, and maybe a third of the way through NG+ in BL2, and only saw one legendary drop, on the final boss, and the loot was stuck in underneath the dead boss in a way that I couldn't get it.

I've seen people suggest adjusting the drop rates on PC via mods/cheatengine, and I can see why. I never did, but if I went back to play more, I probably would.

So, the hour long talk on the bombcast about the ME3 ending, which I skipped, got me interested to see what Mass Effect was all about. I just played through 1, 2, and 3 back to back, not knowing anything about the story other than bits and pieces (nothing spoilery at all), with the important DLC (From Ashes and Leviathan for ME3), and found that taken as a whole, with the DLC, it was one of my favorite gaming experiences, period. I had no problem with the ending I got in ME3, and the catalyst made sense with what I'd learned in Leviathan... Reading some stuff about the ending pre-extended cut is really bizarre, especially since Leviathan wasn't out. I can see how it would be weird and not make a lot of sense. I know not many people will have played the way I did (waiting this long for ME3, and even fewer playing all three games back to back for the first time), but it was definitely worth the 90 hours or so I put in.
