If you select 'extras' underneath options you will find the developers commentary option. This will allow you to play through the parish campaign with the developers describing in detail the process of making the game, a bit like DVD commentary tracks. In it they describe how the made the zombies blow apart in L4D2. It's a bit jargon heavy but interesting none the less. There's probably a lot in there ...
