@nexnecis: I haven't viewed Giant Bomb as a reviews site in years. I can't imagine the GB staff would call it a review focused site either. It's always been entertainment.
Mario Maker out classes the level editor label I threw at it by being a great at it's core. The way it charmed the shit out of the crew is a testament to the way Nintendo at it's best transcends traditional games. They always have the potential to be better than everyone. Here they have.
Man, Game of the Year? Maybe third, but not number one.
Let's get very reductive for a moment. They gave Game of the Year to a level editor. There is a shitload of fun in that level editor, but it's a level editor with shitty ways to find levels.
