Great VLOG! I always enjoy these videos, and I look forward to them every year! It's fun to see the behind the scenes stuff and appreciate all the hard work the GB and GBE crews do to make the E3 coverage happen. It's truly a way to know that my subscription is being put to good use!
I share many of the ownership issues with Jeff. I enjoy the convenience of digital ownership, but I shudder in fear of the inevitable loss of my Steam Library if anything happens to the server racks in charge of knowing what I have licences for. We have already handed over any rights to these types of properties through services like Steam, sure we got some things in return like community integration and automatic updates, but at what cost? So far there hasn't been too much to the end user directly in Steam's case, besides the digital rights.
What kind of drawbacks will Google's service have? What metadata are they selling to Devs and advertisers? How on earth are they going to pay for all of this if it takes off? There's a lot to worry about, but I am going to wait and see like many of y'all out there.
If I want a simulation I fly DCS F-18C, when I want to have some arcade action, I play Ace Combat. It's like comparing Call of Duty to Arma. They are both good for different reasons.
