I've only played Bloodborne. Can't see anything topping it this year except for Ori, Grow Home or Life is Strange once I play them.

All 3 are great but Bloodborne seems great s far too. I like all 4 of these titles!

Lots of Bloodborne in here, I gotta give that game some hours. I have it but havent; really played much yet, maybe that will be my next focused endeavor.

Since you say you are super open minded I have an unusual one for you. I've been into Grow Home lately, it's a quirky light hearted but surprisingly deep platformer. Short though. But it's also only $8 on steam. It's about a half dozen hours or so on the first playthrough at a medium pace and you may want to play it again. Moderate repay value I would say.

Here's where the open minded part comes in. You will look it up and figure it's just a kid's game. Trust me...it's great for kids, but it's also great for ALL ages. It grabs you.

Grow Home is one of the best games I've ever played. It feels and looks amazing.

As far as a small, cheap platformer goes I was seriously impressed. Played it 3 times through.

For me Dying Light but special mention goes to Bloodborne, Ori and Grow Home.

At the time of release, I'd say Ocarina of Time was one of the most innovative games of all time. They really invented a whole lot in the way of gameplay design for that game. And it all worked.

Back then it was a favorite of mine. Good choice! Not because it was a favorite of mine but because you are right, it had some great gameplay and other elements. I haven't thought about that game in a long time. I don't think I've played it in about a dozen years. What a classic.

Well get yo ass on the 3DS version. It's one of the best remakes ever remade.

Awesome, thanks for the tip! I eyeballed it quite some time ago but didn't know if it was good or not, it's good to get the recommendation. I'll find it this weekend. You da best!

@getsomegoagain: Fez is excellent, I did my first playthrough with as little guidance as possible, and then once I saw the incomplete ending, I went back and finished all puzzles with a guide. I missed the initial wave of the internet figuring out the really esoteric puzzles, so I didn't feel too bad asking for help to see the total package. Overall, a wonderful experience.

I almost bought Grow Home this weekend, so maybe I finally will sometime soon!

I haven't used a guide yet but I've been stuck for really long times at certain points. Still, I'm an oldster and this is certainly an old school way of playing! If I get too stuck though I may have to use a guide but for now it's fun toughing it out . The sense of accomplishment in the game is huge...equal to the challenge it presents.

As for grow home...yeah man. I cannot recommend it enough. Once you try it you will understand that FEEL the game gives you. Goofy and light and smiley.

Wassup nickhead! My weekend was great. Only payed 2 games this weekend but I had a lot of fun with them. I started Fez, excellent fun and really hard. I like that I have to try on it. It's engaging enough to keep me going and interested and tough enough that I will never cakewalk through this thing! I also started a 3rd playthrough of Grow Home (don't look at me like that!). I just can't get enough of certain games lately. During the week last week I also started about my 12th toon on the original Borderlands, speaking of games I can't get enough of.
