How have I managed to spent the entire Christmas break doing nothing more substantial than messing around with a mobile phone. Sure my shiny new Nexus S is great but jeez.
Also VVVVVV is awesome and so cheap it's ridiculous.

Never one to give up, Steve Weibe has once again become The King Of Kong with a 1,064,500 points score which has been verified by Twin Galaxies. In a fit of bordem I checked and the Donkey Kong Level 22 killscreen is apparently not a memory limitation but an integer overflow.  With the bonus calculated using   Level Number * 10 + 40, level 21  (21 * 10 + 40 = 250, which incidently gives a bonus of 25000 points) is the highest you can go. On level 22 the calculation total is 260 which overflows the 256 maximum value and it's good night Mario.
 
Killscreen info: ROMHACK, apparently someone has fixed it in MAME.. judging by their page they have way too much time on their hands.
