We were poor kids but my sister and I managed to save enough pocket money to buy a NES over many, many months. When we finally had enough my Mum told us she would pay the rest and buy us a SNES. I still have it along with the box and everything.

..of course when I got my first job I bought a NES to play the games I missed out on owning when we were growing up. Lets just say I annoyed a lot of other kids by being that kid who would constantly ask to play their NES.

For a while I made extra cash by repairing RRoD, DVD lasers etc so at one point or another I had a pile of dead 360s I'd cannibalise parts from.
