I got into the LBP "beta" (the use of inverted commas is purposeful because let's face it, this isn't a beta at all, it's a demo!) about 2 hours ago. Been playing ever since. It's brilliant, amazing, etc. etc.
I'm having execution problems however. The reason I post is because I've had to stop playing due to frustration: the games crashed a good 4 times: loading photos, generally playing the game, other PSN users trying to join me, exiting tutorials, etc.
Occassionally I've tried to load up my "level" where it just basically gets "stuck" and loads "forever" until I turn my whole system off. And the rewind "undo" tool seemingly (no exaggeration) "rewinds" for a good 10-15 minutes before I can undo what I've literally JUST done.
Now of course I understand that these problems may be down to the "beta" status and of course I will be doing my job and logging it all on the Media Molecule forum.
I just wondered if any other users were experiencing the same problems? I'm not moaning or anything, I appreciate this is unfinished code and everything. Just wondered if anyone else was having the same problems (hey, I could be doing something wrong!).
Oh has anyone else had problems connecting to the LBP servers 'cos I haven't been able to a few times.
I'm wondering if the loading problems are because it's running from the HDD?

"Beta" A Bit Buggy?
"I just pray that it works well when it comes out because frankly its the only PS3 game worth getting this year."You'll be missing out on Resistance then I take it? And you've already skipped MGS4!
Meh fair enough.
Yeh i'm having similar problems. The "undo" command takes a lifetime, which extremely annoying when it's just a sticker you've put on and you want removing.
And yes i've also been stuck in tutorials once i've completed them, and i can't really access the online much, other than getting other people to run around in my pod.
I got a beta code from IGN and I will download it tonight, if there are problems I will just post on the board for it.
Though I think the games finished though so this isnt much of a beta, its a demo like you said. Its just to create hype.
You've got to understand that this beta is a pretty old build of the game. It's really more a beta in the sense that it's testing the community part of the game. Testing how good their going to handle thousands of people sharing and playing with each other and the such.

The beta better be an old build.
I believe I heard somewhere that someone from Media Molecule said it was a pretty olf build, and that they had made a lot of improvements since then. I'm not sure where I heard it but it was probably during the time I was trying to get into the beta.
Ever since I got in, it's been hard to put down. It's just awesome and I can't wait for the full game.
Went into an online level. A guy followed me. It also turned out I was following him for some reason. We were following each other. The level kept restarting and looping. I couldn't get out. I had to reset the PS3.
Yeah... glitchy as hell I'd say. Hope it gets fixed.
It's testament to the game that even while it's buggy as hell (although it seems to be better in "non-peak" times) - you can still like spend hours and hours in there.
I took one look at the bugginess of SOCOM and couldn't be arsed.
Good that the "Beta" ( I agree that this is just a demo) is an older build. I haven' t played it at all but just hearing about it being buggy made me worry. Some games out there you cant find a single glitch, i'm hoping LBP's final build that went gold a weeks ago will be just as polished.
I've had a few problems with online playing as well. Very very laggy and it takes me about 5 tries to be able to join any game. Also it froze my Ps3 in two occasions. And, like you mentioned, the rewind tool takes forever to work.
I'm glad the beta is of an older build. There were some things that just seemed weird for a game that's been in development for so long. For instance, did it bother anyone else that it seems like you're always walking on ice? I kept sliping off edges, even though I was standing still.
Other than that, the game does seem pretty fun, and I've seem some incredible levels built by players.
