Like a lot of others I like Dan, but whenever it gets to topics like this where it’s a whole Andy Kaufman “is he or isn’t he ON right now?!?” thing has gotten very tiring.
Indeed-Dan's shenanigans is entertaining, but his shallow personality and way of looking at the world creates a pretty tired and one-dimensional gimmick that's probably grown to be the most played out of anyone in the crew from these past three years. Is as everyone's reactions to him. One of the the reasons this site has grown stale to me during the past year and a half.
Metal Gear Solid 5 is the best Metal Gear game, I'm surprised this is up for debate. It's also the least like all the other MGS games, which I roundly couldn't stand...so maybe that's why I think this?
MGS V is a generic Ubisoft game with a vague Metal Gear theme.
And it's not even a good one of those.
The only valid take on Phantom Pain as far as I'm concerned.
The "amazing gameplay" isn't that great to begin with, simply being a very polished generic thrid person far cry game with some splinter cell tossed in there, with the most generic and visually dull open world areas, and a lack of variety and gameplay loop that no where near justifies it's atrocious 60 hour length.
MGS have always been about about the "metal gear experience" which there was none in Phantom Pain. I'll take shitty overdramatic anime story over the soulless, stale Ubisoft-wannabe experience we got with Phantom Pain.
