Cool, instantly recognized the Wireworld stuff as a real thing. Exactly the sort of thing I would program on my Atari ST in the 90s after reading about it in Scientific American.

If you're like me you wish they had time-warped at the Mun landing site so you could see what the terrain looked like in sunlight. So I went to the displayed Lat/Long myself. This is what it looked like:

Jeb is standing pretty much exactly where their ship landed. It's the northern lip of a small crater, with a 40-45 degree slope to the crater floor 150m below. If they had landed a metre or so to the south things probably would have gone badly.

The easiest way to see actual altitude on the Mun (no extra mods needed) is to press "C" to go into the internal cockpit view. To the lower right of the navball is the Radar Altitude dial that gives you actual distance to the surface (as long as you are below 3000 metres). Press "C" again to go back to normal exterior view. Note you can pan around the interior view by holding the right mouse button, and can zoom in and out with the mousewheel if you want to take a closer look.
