Going by the crews nomenclature, I really want these boring games to be more boring. I have the fetish. I skipped 7, so I really am curious to see if there is anything coming to 8 which will pique my interest. Pit stops and fuel/tyre management certainly raise an eyebrow.

I'm really torn. I kept my sub going last year absolutely ready to support a raft of bold, new ideas making their way to the site. But now? Ideas either die out after a few episodes or they live long enough to get bumped to the free tier. So we're clear, I'm honestly glad there is all that free content. More people should get to enjoy this stuff. Albummer was such a sleeper hit with me.

It's almost been a year since, and I'm just so perplexed as to why I should keep a sub going. At least there was no parasocial relationship at play when I cancelled Netflix recently. It's just such an odd feeling. Will the great content make a comeback as soon as I unsub? Would that content just eventually be on the free tier anyway? I don't even necessarily sub for the personalities themselves anymore, but I loved supporting what they do... or rather, did.

Also, big shout outs to anyone thinking there'll be staff answers in here. Oh to be a sweet, innocent child.

@spliffmaster: A year later, but Circuit Superstars is incredibly fun and a top down racer.

Moreso than the games themselves but I really would like to see more crossplay supported racing games in the future. The few racing sims like ACC that are out there on consoles are dependent on population pools to be good online. Now, more than ever, it should be easier to align those players into shared experiences.

This is helpful for sure. There was a time I'd have thought Forza Motorsport was more sim than it was, but would later learn via Project Cars that the rabbit hole goes rather deep. Controller settings are definitely improving across the field. I play ACC on a pad when I can't set up the wheel and I dare say I have an easier time applying throttle there.

It's an interesting one and I see both sides of the argument about the new shows. I was hugely sad when Vinny et al left and worried by the lack of content thereafter, however, when Nextlander sprung up it felt too on the nose and just re-affirmed how stale a lot of GB had gotten. What was going to be an instant patreon i've held off in the hope they do something new.

Meanwhile the new GB stuff has been hit and miss so far but at least it's been something new (with the exception of bourne to run). They do need more new games based content and I hope it'll come, especially once JeffG and Jason's situations are more normal, but I do feel another core staff member would be a good move. The podcast has remained the best podcast i listen to with Danny a great addition at least.

Couldn't agree more with this. Those last few months/weeks have been such a pendulum swing from GB to Nextlander. I don't see anything the Nextlander folks have put out is anything they haven't already done for the last 18 months already. I thought Vinny would stretch his production chops beyond video/audio filters on a livestream. All these new GB shows are wild in variety and are a breath of fresh air. I'd rather have guests who are clearly passionate about what they are doing and the platform they've been given inject some new life into these halls rather than see J., J. & J. et al. stifled under a burden to have to keep churning out content weekly.

@digitaldisco: How do you manage to draw that conclusion with position 2 already right there?

Like, Albummer sounds like a fine concept but are any of those people even in the games industry? Or have any relation to the staff whatsoever? I'm all for learning about new voices but I just don't even see the connection there.

Bakalar definitely likes his music a bit on the heavier side of things. 2M2LN are like if Ghost and Conan O'Brien had a love child. I've only started watching season one of their show, and it's kind of a blast. The skits are funny and gives me some GOTY vibes of the past.

As for their tie to games? I know a lot of the writers have varying interests in them. They even have this video of them playing metal renditions of game themes at Comic Con. Almost feels like a GB of heavier music that I'd been missing out on all this time.
